Do you think they will show his face, at all, throughout the next thrilogy?
no they wont and please stop asking this question
no
People are still curious on seeing the animated/pixelated face of a fictional videogame character?
In all seriousness, I rather Master Chief remain an enigma.

This. I like how they don’t show his face.
this brought me an idea.
for a teaser trailer have it in game footage and have him taking of his helmet, and cut it right before you see his face.
And then in the campaign you implement this part and somehow find a way to hide his face. Like in halo 2’s beginning where they bring the camera up while he puts on the helmet, and oh those agonizing moments where you wish the camera had moved up a little faster

I forgot that I asked this question. Oh wait, this was my first post. Anyway, Isn’t the new trilogy sapposed to be about flushing out the story of John 117 and cortana. I havent finished reading Glasslands, but it seems like 343 is trying to flush out thier characters and make them more realistic.

You can have a basic idea of how John looks if your read: The Fall of Reach.
However, the Master Chief allows a sense of mystery and allows the player to project themselves onto the MC. Showing his face would eliminate that.

He’s a white guy with freckles. I’ve read the books, excluding the aft section of glasslands. Doe’s anyone think that 343 will throw of the old “mystery”? Because in my oppinion it is the one reason that a movie hasnt been made yet. You can’t a create a truely believeable protagonist without a clear understanding of who they are. That is exactally what 343 has professed to want to do. Does anyone think that 343 has the yarbles to put a face to this guy.

If they do, it probably won’t be until Halo 6.
Honestly, I wouldn’t mind having an official face for the Chief, and seeing as 343 is looking to develop his character more during the next trilogy, it seems like a very real possibility.

I would be pretty mad if the last scene of Halo 6 was MC taking his helmet of and it being uncleverly covered by something. Bungie used to pull jokes on bungienet forum posters, like giving false hope, all the time. I hope 343 is a little more civilized.

While I wouldn’t mind seeing the Chief’s face, I wouldn’t be opposed to one more teaser at the end of Halo 6. Cool as it would be to put a face to the man, one thing that makes the Chief so iconic is that his face is his helmet, that we don’t know exactly what he looks like.

I read The Fall of Reach before i beat Halo CE. It actually made me mad, because I had allready known what he looked like. Basically, bungie told me what he looked like and then stripped it away like it was a secret.
I really started to get angry after I finished LOST, because i realized that TV shows, video games, and movie series were just trying to coax me into buying thier next instalment without giving me any payoff. Frankly I am tired of the old line that mystery is something good. Mystery is just another gimick that corporations have firgured out how to exploit. Why not just give him a face and make the drawing factor of the game the depth of story you create.
oh noez
NO.
his helmet and not knowing who his face is an iconic image and should not be thrown away. It is important, it defines halo
I don’t want his face shown until the Very Last Halo game. And I only want a glimpse, not for his face to shine out in the open. Like say, a crack through his visor?
> his helmet and not knowing who his face is an iconic image and should not be thrown away. It is important, it defines halo
I would say that is confines Halo. I was thirteen when I picked up halo. Now I’m 23. I think halo should mature just as it’s fan base has. The mystery part is childish. I didn’t buy into the reasoning when Frank o’conor said it in those old vidocs anymore than i do now.
Give me a real reason that we shouldn’t be grown up enough to see MC.
its symbolical, and has nothing to do with maturing. This creates a mysterious aura that keeps the person intrested in who it is. It kind of has a whole bunch of stories told about it, and no one knows whats true.
What cryptum did was spoil the mystery behind the forerunners which kind of felt like a let down as everything has been spilled out before us and it does not have the same feeling as before.
But this mysterious feeling lost in the forerunners was found in the Timeless One and the Precurors as well as the beginning of the flood.
