Ok, I can’t hold my tongue any longer. It’s been bugging me since I first put my disc in the XBOX. I can’t stop looking at it. I try to think of something else but there it is staring right at me. I can’t have been the only person to notice this. It’s extremely noticeable and I can’t look away.

I’m talking Master Chief’s comically small hands.

They’re tiny little mittens. So cute and under-developed. I try to think of John as a fierce space marine but when I see those hands I just can’t help but giggle and snicker.

Notice the difference between the new graphics and the original version?

You probably think I photoshopped it. You’re probably thinking ‘oh you troll, they’re not that small’ and you may even be logging on to youtube to look at the cut-scene to prove me wrong. If you did go to that length to see for yourself then it’s proof that they are actually comically small. I wonder if it’s an error with the character modelling or some kind of glitch or perhaps someone did actually look at those itty-bitty mittens and say ‘yeah, those are great, that works, I’m happy with that’.

I’m sorry if I’ve shown you something that can’t be unseen. I’m sorry if this is going to distract you every time you see them. I know personally it’s always on my mind.

Any thoughts? Any comments? Any jokes?

I know, they are definitely smaller than Keyes even though Chief is “slightly” bigger.

You’re not the only one, I laughed pretty hard when I saw his hands in that cutscene. They’re like little baby hands compared to the rest of his body.

I expect him at any moment to sit down and play a comically small piano at at moment.

Glad to see I’m not the only person that noticed that. My first play-through of Anniversary I burst out laughing when I saw that!

I know. They worked on the game too, it wasn’t all Saber but Saber certainly did the heavy lifting.

But I’d like to think that during their ‘overssing’ they noticed the itty-bitty hands.

It would have been better if the comparison shot was of the same angle.

I thought it was more hilarious watching Master Chief lobbing that huge -Yoink- grenade up and down on that tiny hand of his in that cutscene on The Maw.

Haha. I thought I was the only one who noticed this. His hands are probably interchangable. His normal sized ones were getting repaired.

OR

They shrunk as a result of prolonged cryostasis.

That explains one time on PoA after Keyes gave me his pistol that it wouldn’t show up when I got to the first Grunts. I was able to pick up the AR but I didn’t have the pistol. I walked back to Keyes looking on the floor for the pistol but it was no where to be found. I think his tiny hand were not able to hold the pistol and he dropped it. True story.

The augmentations shrank his hands instead of his -Yoink!- as steroids would do, reminds me of the burger king whopper guy with small hands lol, poor chief

i think it’s better actually

if you’re wearing a full suit of armour and need extensive movement capabilities you don’t want much padding around your fingersor you can’t do jack all (like huge gloves in winter)
