Master Chief's beginnings.

There has been quite a lot of talk form 343 about focusing on the chief more in Halo 4, and going more in depth about his dark and painful past. With that said do you think they might cover some of that with flashbacks, not within the games main cut-scenes (though that is possible), but more like the terminals in Halo A.

Or you could just read the books and comics that touch on this.

Skip to 0:53, Bungie already explained his origins.

Gotta make sure everyone knows, I guess. Makes sense from a development standpoint.

It’s never been mentioned in the games, and I think that’s the point 343 are trying to get across, they want to give us a greater insight into who the Master Chief is.

Plus it will make for a far deeper and emotional story.

Even though me and plenty of other people already know the information? Why waste terminals on something already known when it could be used for something completely new?

Yes i want to see his past story in the Games .

Bungie tried that with Reach. But then again, all Bungie’s writers are capable of is one-liners.

Agreed. Sorry everyone : People on these forums are the Halo “addicted” fans. Most people who play the games don’t read the books/comics/etc. It would be smart to show his origin in the game, so that way all the more “casual” fans can learn about him too. There you go.

He was a normal kid, got kidnapped by ONI, trained at the age of 6 to be a Spartan, got augmented, went on a lot of missions against rebels and Covenant.

There you go.

Been there, done that. Bring on the new material!

All possible by reading.

Wouldn’t say him or ANY of the Spartan-IIs were normal, they had to have special genetics, had to meet the requirements. Now Spartan-IIIs, sure they were normal, well some were.

Now, I know the story, but like some people have said, it hasn’t been completely explained in the games, and probably should. I like the idea of it being terminals or something along those lines.

Maybe people will not want to read ,Maybe people will not know there is Books ,There is a lot of people even Halo fans who do not know Chief’s Backstory .A quick Cutscene could fix this .

Why not focus on the story of Halo 4? If they really want to know Chief’s story, the books exist and so do comic books. There do not need to be a ton of adaptions of the same story.

I agree focus on the story of Halo 4 . 343 Said that they where focusing on chief’s Caracter . The events of the past effect the events of the present witch impact the events of the Future .

However 343i do it, I’m sure it’ll be cleverly done.
Terminal style videos would be a great idea,
I’m looking forward to learning more about Master Chief in Halo 4.

It’s not that hard to find out about the Chief’s beginnings. You could go buy a book, comic, or go to Halopedian.com and read about it. 343i doesn’t need to have to explain it in the games when it’s been explained several times before.
Infact, the Chief’s story has been around for over 10 years now. If you’ve been playing Halo since 2007 then there’s no excuse for you to not have found out about it by now.
