first of all I love the way the 343 has made the chief look in halo 4 and I love what they have done with they.
Anyway my idea in one of the future game was to have different armours for the Master Chief e.g. Ghost and that would be a sort of light armour and have long ranged guns, Heavy and the Chief would have big bulky armour with a shotgun and sort of a machine gun thing like what Jorge had in Reach, and finally a All round sort of armour where Chief would look how he did in halo 4 and would carry the battle rifle and handgun.
So with these different armour loadouts for the Chief you the player can decide which one you what to use to best complete that mission.
This is just a thought so tell me what you think about it and think that its a good direction for 343 to take to make the future games
As long as his future armor retains a large golden visor, The torches on the side of the helmet, martians a dark green colour and looks like it’s from Halo; Then I really won’t care. It’s still the same guy under the armor at the end of the day.
If it was implemented mass effect style i would be all for this. It would give campaign a higher degree of replay value. You could even do some interesting things with perks and AA’s.
They could probably do something similar to Reach with a mix of Halo 3;
Customizable armour with the game cover showing default and Players 2, 3 and 4 being based on other characters with their own sets of customizable armour.
I wouldn’t mind if they integrated some look of a promethean warrior that was shown in the terminal videos based on the technology information they have gained throughout halo 4.
Another part of what they do may be based on what they find that the forerunners left technology wise detailed by the Janus key and absolute record.
I just hope he gets a big upgrade that none of the Spartan 4s get, only Spartan 2s. Forerunner tech infused mrk VI would be amazing
I hope they do something like Reach. You have the Mark 6 (or higher gen) armor as the default-painted green-gold visor, etc. but you have the ability to change the armor like in Reach
> i think hes going to wear the mark 7 armor. in the books there is only 1 spartan that wore it so far, master chief will probably wear it too.
Why would he wear the Mark VII armour when he has his upgraded Mark VI?
I know its five years old but don’t forget that Cortana had spent a good four years upgrading and improving it.
In terms of aesthetics I can undertand why they would give him new armour although they must have really done something to do better than Cortana, let alone the time she spent.
Sure, but I think he’s bulky enough and I still have nightmares from Reach. Let’s keep the bulky look out (but not go overboard with the light look looks at H4).

…what?
the modified Mk VI still wouldn’t be as advanced as the Mk VII. It’s just modified, if you have a windows XP and you deck it out it still wouldn’t be as the best PC out to date would it?
plus I would rather have a new suit, I hate this Mk VI mod.
One of the things I admire about the Marvel Movieverse is that with each installment that he’s present, Tony Stark’s main suit is different in appearance, nature and ability. This is going to be even truer with the new one – and I don’t hear of anyone having a difficult time associating these different appearances with Iron Man. I find it cool when a character has different iconic appearances at different stages of the story.
So, I’d find it cool if Chief changed suits (or modified his suit) per mission. Reach had a slight bit of that with the space mission, since Noble 6 has that re-entry pack. It’d be neat if Chief used the EVA suit for space missions, the CQB for ground ops, and Scout for reconnaissance. I don’t know how often it’d come up, but when it did it would be a nice touch.
Why would Chief have multiple different Armours? There is no point in this, keep Halo how it has always worked. You are always given equipment that is best suited for the mission at the very start of the mission. You have to find other equipment along the way.
It’s nice to see that you are having ideas, but I really don’t like this.
Yay! Let’s completely change one of the most iconic video game characters of all time and completely remove everyone image of one of the most influential characters of all time.
I don’t mind the upgraded Mark VI, but the one from H2 and H3 just seemed like they offer more protection. Chiefs back is now exposed straight up in between the shoulder bones.
They should just give Chief an option in a cutscene in which he replies “No Sir” or “No M’am”
Giving options between Heavy armor and light armor is just not really Halo.
With all the changes made to Halo 4 which removed some of the core aspects I do not wish to see one of the base fundamental elements scrapped and gone.
On a side note, when you unlock the Mark VI armor for multiplayer, it does not even look like it. The torso is completely wrong except for the chest part of it. The lower part is wrong, the back is wrong, the shoulders are completely wrong. SMH.

yeah, its the old style of chief’s armor. Don’t know why they upgraded chiefs look and didn’t include it in the multiplayer unlock.
That too but what I meant is that the Mark VI in multiplayer is not like the Mark VI from H2 or H3.
The Mark VI that chief has in campaign is the one upgraded by Cortana. The one in multiplayer is supposed to be the one from the previous games, but it bears much less resemblance. It seems more like a hybrid between the old Mark VI and the Upgraded Mark VI.
I agree Chief is such and iconic character. i didnt mean striping him down so like the he would be wearing scout armour or E.O.D, its his own armour so hewill still have the iconic colour, visor, helmet but just little changes for each Class if you get what I mean
Bad idea is bad. As the noble rookie it made sense that you can have a different armour because you, as the silent one were introduced to the rest of the team.
As chief you start the story with a special type of armour - the mark armour. It’s customized for chief and only for him. A loadout would destroy the campaign.
e.g. Legendary works like this:
Run through the map, kill enemies, throw away your empty weapon and pick up what dead enemies left behind (or hunt some easter egg lulz)
So if you face 10 elites and you can choose via loadout ‘shotgun’ where is the difficulty? Where is the excitement?
When you play the campaign you are MASTER CHIEF. And what makes you MC? Not your MARK XY armor, not your orange golden visor. Not your smoky badarse voice, no. (ok, ok,maybe a little)
What makes you John 117 is that you make best out of your hopeless situation. Even if you gaze into the abyss and the abyss gazes back, chief knows a way how to troll it.
Would these choices decide which weapons you start each mission with? If so, then that would be interesting.
However, I feel that it should work like the specializations/mods that the loadouts in IS. It might make the Campaign a bit more RPG-styled, but an option to play the game without these choices should always be there.
