It really should stay with the Mark VI variant from Halo 3 due to holes in the story. The weapons from Halo 3 should come back for that same reason. If Master Chief went into cryo at the end of Halo 3 he couldn’t have possibly changed his armor at all. Changing his armor would definitely punch major holes in the plot between Halo 3 and 4. I know it was just a teaser and doesn’t really determine what’s going to be in the final version of the game, but it’s better to do what you know you can to make sure things don’t get screwed up.
Um thats not how he gets his new Armor.
No one knows how but 343 said that we will see how when it comes out
I think the Mark VII will be a Forerunner-tech augmented version of the MJOLNIR. Can’t wait to see if the upgrade is just aesthetic or actually adds some cool -Yoink- to the game
Well if he gets new armor during the campaign that will be all fine and dandy, but when we get out of the cryo tube it HAS to be Mark VI.

Agreed.

Twice agreed.

Maybe the first time he gets out, but it’s been stated by Frank that in the Teaser that it wasn’t the first time MC had been out of cryo. This is like the 20th or so thread about the SAME exact thing. Can we get some mods to merge these topics please?
You’re right. He had been out of Cryo since Halo 1. He got back in at the end of Halo 3.
> You’re right. He had been out of Cryo since Halo 1. He got back in at the end of Halo 3.
No, Frank said after Halo 3 and before the teaser trailer Chief has been out of the cryo tube, whether that means he messed with his armor is only speculation, but it’s possible. There are no plot holes.

Disagreed.
This is most likely off-topic, but I’ve made this detailing some of the changes between the E3 version of the Chief’s (what we can assume is Mark VII) Armour, to the newer version shown off at the 2012 Toy fair (yes, there were quite a few differences)

Didn’t taking armor on and off of SPARTANS, aside from the helmet of course, require heavy machinery?
> Didn’t taking armor on and off of SPARTANS, aside from the helmet of course, require heavy machinery?
technically yes, though spartans were trained to be able to remove there own armor alone if it was necessary

Maybe he’ll find some engineers that will fix it up for him on the LP.
Yeah it was in a interview I read where Frank said he has been out of the cryo tube since the end of Halo 3. Now that doesn’t mean he was “awake” when this happened or he was. We won’t know till the game comes. I really think though he went on a episode of “-Yoink!- My Spartan” and thats where he got his new threads.

That is REALLY good, man. Nice job.

Not always it takes a while for a spartan 2 to put the armor on unassited though and nearly impossible for a spartan 3.

343 have stated that the story explains the armor change. my god, how many times does need to be said?

Ahh… that’s something I haven’t thought about. What if Cortana took him out of Cryo and updated his armour?

updated him using what? the fully atomated MJOLNIR upgrading facilities that are standard on every UNSC frigate?
