Master Chief's Armor

I’m liking the look of Master Chief’s armor in Halo infinite I must say though I liked the shoulder pads he had in Halo 4 and 5

I definitely prefer the new armor in Infinite for that classic Mark VI look, but that’s not without saying that I still enjoyed his tanky looking armor in Halo 4/5. I wouldn’t mind seeing that particular set as a multiplayer cosmetic option, seeing as you were never able to see it outside of campaign.

I think 343 did a good job with the armor.

I would be incredibly happy if it was armour we could equip in Halo: Infinite and was quite disappointed when I learned that you could unlock every other Spartan’s armour aside from the Chief’s in Halo 4/5.

Still not sold on it, unfortunately. It just looks too cartoony(?), to me…Perhaps I’ll get more used to it as time goes on. I will miss his Gen II Mk VI though.

I like everything about the new armour over the H4/5 version. The shoulder pads in 4/5 looked too detached from his arms in my opinion though I was fine with the shape of them. His Infinite armour looks like what H4 should’ve been.

I liked the Halo 4/5 armor on it’s own merits, with the exception of the lower legs/feet, which looked more like armored pods than feet. I just wish they would’ve explained the change in armor.

The Halo Infinite armor is definitely a more classic design, and I like it too. But again - I hope they explain the change in game, and not via some book or a tweet from Frank O’Connor.

I’m not known to praise the 343i art direction in Halo 4-5, for the most part. But Chief’s armor in those games does look awesome. It strikes a very nice balance between the functional and durable look and the high-concept sci-fi angle, and if it weren’t for the fact that I don’t like the games it was introduced and featured in, I’d love it a lot more. Additionally, I had issues with the way it was introduced into the lore and used in the flashbacks in the beginning of Halo 4.

It should’ve just been the MkVII, and been given to Chief after he rendezvoused with Infinity. One of my biggest issues with immersion in Halo 4 is that Chief and the Forward Unto Dawn just magically have up-to-date equipment after years of being lost and adrift in space. I get that 343i was more interested in giving us FOTUS armor and four or five pattern skins for every weapon than they were in making a MkVI model and classic AR, BR, and Magnum skins for Chief to use earlier on in the Campaign, but they can’t be all that surprised that a lot of us take issue with that decision (it may be a bit nitpicky, truthfully, but I’m still frustrated with it).

Seriously, though- the Chief armor from 4-5 is great on its own and I think it’s a shame that it will forever be associated with the general (arguable) stink of Halo 4 and 5. But since it has that stink on it, and since I’m as nostalgic as anyone for MkVI, I’m also very pleased to see the new armor pay homage to the classic look

I’m ok with the Infinite look, but I prefer the 4/5 look, it just seems better in my opinion.

Even though Chief’s armor in 4/5 is my favorite look for him,I never really liked the shoulder pads. The shoulder pads in Infinite looks more attached.

I love the new look, so bulky and badass.

I don’t see it necessary, maybe they should just darken and desaturate the color of the armor a bit
