Just throwing this out there for everyone who has ever wondered if John-117 was getting too old. I think the legendary ending of halo 4 is nonsense showing his eyes with crows feet aka a feature that shows age around the eyes. Has anyone seen the videos with Spartan Buck in them? The dude is apparently 1 year older than John-117 and looks like he is 30. So i am assuming that people live a lot longer in this universe either from time in cryo or just advancements in genes/medicine. either way i don’t think they should have made master chief look so old in halo 4 IMO.
Chief has been confirmed to be 46 years old at the end of halo 4. After the spartan 2 augs and the years upon years of war he’s been through, I’d think the stress and emotion would show on his face. As much as the chief holds it in, I believe he is a broken man. Almost everyone he could’ve gotten attached to is dead, and given the way h4 ended, I have little doubt that he was at a breaking point. Plus cryo with armor and his helmet on couldn’t have been good for him.
Maybe it is the different genetic modifications to the SPARTAN II’s that make John look older? But yeah, I was thinking the same thing about how old they are supposed to be, and still an elite fighting force doing the same things that people half their age are is pretty crazy.

it is definitely stress and fatigue, i mean, he was out on missions for like 6 years straight with no break besides cryo
Master Chief Petty Officer Spartan John-117 was born on March 7, 2511. By October 27, 2558, the Master Chief is yearly 48 years of age, but due to the augmentations he received in the Spartan-II program and extensive cryostasis, John-117 is biologically approximately between 38-42 years of age.
Johns physiology was “evolutionized” (I know it is not a word) so I would assume he can live longer now.
