I’m tired of people saying that John is getting old and that he’s going to slip up eventually and other Spartans might start to surpass him because he is old that is not the case.
John was born on March 7th, 2511 and is currently alive at 2557 by years he is currently 46 years old, but he also spent four years, seven months, and ten days in cryonic stasis stranded aboard the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn from 2552 to 2557, in which cellular aging can be halted almost completely so in that time in cryogenic sleep we can actually subtract 4 years so he is now 42 years of age.
He has also spent other times in cryogenic stasis in the books which we cant even begin to count that amount of time not to mention that he has traveled in slip space several times which also has an unknown affect on humans aging process and his genetic acceleration by the Liberian adds another unknown affect to his aging.
So in actuality John’s age is unknown and has shown no affect to the way he preforms in combat also because of the modifications of when he became a Spartan he is described as having the body of a 20 year old Olympic athlete.
You can even look at Sargent Johnson as proof he was born before 2484 and by the time of his death on December 11th 2552 he was 68 years old and yet he looked very young besides the balding on the top of his head. He looked this young at around 68 because of his modifications of becoming a Spartan 1 he looks like he is in his early 30’s.
So chiefs age at least in my opinion and evidence he wont mess up because he’s old and I don’t want anyone in the game to say anything like that such as when Captain Del Rio called him an aging Spartan he needs to get his facts straight.

This. Ask Snake, he’ll tell you the same thing.
Biologically, John-117 can be estimated to be roughly 39 to 41 years of age by the time of Halo 4. However, due to his augmentations he will likely remain in his peak physical condition for up to several decades longer than a normal human.
I agree with this. The only thing that will cause him to slip up is his damaged psyche.
It’s 500 years into the future! 40 is the new 10. How old was Parangosky when she ran ONI? 90ish?
> It’s 500 years into the future! 40 is the new 10. How old was Parangosky when she ran ONI? 90ish?
True, but she went on constant tangents about cookies, so that shows she wasn’t all there. ;p
Age doesn’t really apply to Spartans in the same way it does to regular people. The Spartan IIIs were just 12 when they were smashing Covenant left, right and centre before their inevitable deaths. Not to mention an unarmoured Chief destroyed a group of ODSTs in the ring when he was just 15.
Then there’s the fact that his augmentations will likely keep him far above the average 20 year old when he’s well into his 70s and Chief has spent a long and undeterminable amount of time in cryo sleep which will have suppressed aging, probably leaving his biological age around his mid thirties.
This is actually one thing that really bugged me in Halo 4 - specifically, Captain Del Rio’s rant about “an aging Spartan and his malfunctioning AI”. That was just garbage writing to me. If Captain Del Rio paid any attention to what John-117 was up to during his four some years missing in action (and he certainly would pay attention), he would realize that the Human-Covenant War was literally a few days ago for the Master Chief, and he should then be able to draw the conclusion that this is biologically and psychologically literally the same supersoldier who defeated the old Covenant four years ago. He hardly aged a day since 2552 during this confrontation.
In other words, I completely agree with you. The Master Chief will never be “old”.
I completely agree, and if anything he is in better shape than 90% of the rest of the UNSC aside from any of the possible prototype Spartans they could possibly have. This guy was DESIGNED to be a soldier, you don’t think that those who created him didn’t consider that he is a human that ages and work to lessen those effects. Master Chief is likely the best soldier on that whole planet at the time of when the captain said that.

Well yes, he is. But regardless, I found it extremely unlikely that he would dismiss Master Chief based on an excuse like that.
Im just itching with anticipation to know what his accelerated evolution has done to his appearance and physical attributes
If Johnson, a Spartan I, was capable of killing hordes of Covies and Flood in his late 60’s, I’m sure that John, a Spartan II, is capable of cutting through hordes of enemies in his mid-40’s.

I keep forgetting that Johnson was a Spartan, just hard to imagine that man wearing the armor.
He looks better in green.

Aye. The amount of respect for him just went up about a billion kajillion trazillion.
Not to mention, what all has the Librarians magic trick done to him?
> Wait…hold up.
>
> Johnson was a Spartan I?
Yes Johnson was part of the original Spartan program or as it was originally called the ORION Project.
the ORION project was under the control of ONI Section-III, the Special Projects section of ONI’s Beta-5 Division. Sadly the project failed and was ahead of it’s time before the Mjolnir Armor was created by Dr. Halsey.
I think 343 forgot that Cheif spent a lot of time in cryo when they made his face
Also Johnson looks young because he spent time in Cryo , all non essiantal personel
Where put in Cryo while in Slipspace because it took months to travel between systems. Cheif has bean in many battles and every time the Unsc had to go somewhere it would take them months. With 27 years of war Cheif spent at least A lot of time in Cryo as the ship went through slip space to reach its destination. Even if only 1/3 of his time during the war was in Cryo it would 9 years in Cryo making him 33.
It’s also important to remember this is 500 years in the future. The average human lifespan might be something like 150 in the 26th century.
