343 should make Master Chief’s armor closer to Halo 2. I don’t know why, but I think that’s when the Master Chief looked the best. Also, put his “space-diapper” back on, it looks silly without it. Why wouldn’t he be protected down there?
He has a super athletic cup, if they give a good valid reason for some his armor being different I won’t have any problems. I’m not a fan of “just cuz”

It’s not gone. There is very clearly a black codpiece there, it just blends in with his armor.

Parts of his armor have speculated to have fallen or worn off, and new pieces placed back on in some places, there will be a canon explanation to this. Personally, I wasn’t a fan of the space diaper, I always liked the Mark V armor more.
