Who thinks master chief talks way to much in the halo 4 campaign? I saw master chief as a total badass… With halo 4 campaign i just saw him another guy now and where the hell did all the emotions come in?
well i like to hear what some of you guys think about it.
Note didn’t 343 show master chief when he was a young boy? From one of those videos for halo 4.
I have been wanting this master chief since the beginning, I got a little bit of it in the cut scene in halo 3 when he finds Cortana. I mean if anything I wish he said more in the final cinematic in halo 4 with cortana and Captain lasky. But in the end that’s what his character is. so im hoping now in halo 5 that we get to hear what hes thinking about. I bet he has a lot to say under the helmet
They tried to make him more “human” by making him talk more but he already had emotion without talking at all. Someone else pointed out, that he asks so many stupid questions now. In the other games he didn’t ask, because he already knew the answer.
It doesn’t fit his character. Then at the end Lasky says “You don’t talk much do you?”.
Lol really? He talked more during the first 3 missions than he did during the first 3 games.

They did show John as a young boy in the Scanned Trailer. But for clarification, the spartan you later see lying on the bed after augmentation is NOT John.
They then later show John getting his MJOLNIR Armor, which is why they hid his face during that scene. The armor in that scene should have been Mk. 5 I believe, so I don’t know why they showed him wearing the updated Mk. 6.
Also, all “the emotions” came in SPOILER when John realized he was loosing his best friend.

Coming off the trilogy, i very much prefer this post Halo 3 Master Chief. While still a fictional character, 343 has taken the first steps in making the Chief an actual character rather than some lame device to imprint our own personality into (which fails once you consider the books).
Chief wasn’t a motor mouth in Halo 4 and kept that quiet, professionalism about him. That didn’t change, they just gave him enough the right amount of dialogue he needed to have.
It’s understandable that he didn’t talk much to Lasky. Consider that Chief is a very professional soldier; the idea of being “at ease” or casual around a superior officer is an alien concept at best. Plus, he just lost Cortana too, very traumatic experience. More busy reflecting on the events than have any interest in talking if you will.
