If you don’t know, early on in Master chiefs life, he saved a now-marine named Parisa, afterwards, he promised to marry her and protect her. Now, my question is what do you guys think of master chief retiring and having a wife? Personally, I think it’d be extremely weird, but I’d be able to get used to the idea. And if you think that master chief SHOULD have a wife, comment and let me know why.
Woah WHAT. I did not know that! I guess it would be ok as long as they don’t change his character and turn halo into a cheesy rom-com
Honestly I don’t see it happening, at least, not with some girl he promised as a little kid.
The point of it was to show the life he’d left behind, not to hint at his future.
No, its a promise from when they were children.
Umm no we need the chief to fi fish the fight that he keeps making. (Cue all H4 cutscenes)

Not going to happen. He has been a Spartan most of his life and would have trouble adapting to a civilian life. He wouldn’t be able to settle down.
No chief marrying would be weird.
Chief in Infinite: There wont be a marriage if we don’t stop the Banished.

Tell that to Goku and Chichi!

Goku has a head injury and is lacking education. He still can’t do proper addition sentences and is entirely a stranger to the concepts of romance and love.
I doubt John and Parisa understand the full meaning of marriage at that age.
Its been a while since I watched dragonball, but didn’t Goku and Chichi also continue to spend time together after said promise? Promising to marry someone when your kids in and of itself isn’t bad.
But promising such, being seperated for 30+ (40+?) years, then feeling obligated to follow through with it now that you’re entirely different people who haven’t seen eachother, is a bit much.
Marrying? It would be interesting.
However, I think it would be more likely that breeding of the Spartans might be mandated or even something that just happens. We already know that the kids of Spartans turn out advanced compared to their normal human counterparts, so if the Chief had kids with his activated geas, you could see the next phase of human evolution take place.
SPARTAN-II are sterile so they cannot have children. Also, they have a host of psychological issues that need to be straightened out before they can be considered safe for settling down. They are essentially child soldiers kidnapped and conscripted into the military. The amount of indoctrination and drilling they’ve been through, it is virtually impossible for them to consider anything other than the UNSC as their home. Although its a nice idea to consider the Chief finding a happy ending, finding love and being at peace. Unfortunately, we all know how the Chief’s story will end. Either he sacrifices his own life for humanity, or he catches a stray bullet/plasma bolt when his luck finally runs out.

I seriously hope these misconceptions can die off with the "suit jacks him off in the coming years. The thyroid implant side effects were a risk, not guarantee.
Only one has been known to be sterile and its Naomi.
Maria, and Randall say hello for marriage and children.
Spartans aren’t sterile, just have -Yoink!- drives suppressed. Also if for no other reason than Perisia thinks John is dead means it isn’t going to happen. Lastly we seem to be getting the Kelly and John angle so all in all, no.

Randall-037 was a S-II and he had a daughter. S-IIs were never sterile. There was also Maria-062 who tested Chief’s Mark VI MJOLNIR armor before retiring from the UNSC with the desire to start a family. So we have many examples of Spartan-IIs (successful, not washouts) desiring to leave the front lines. Even Chief in the books has entertained thoughts of what comes after he’s no longer in fighting shape.

Even surpressed drive is listed as a risk, not an absolute side effect.
Otherwise John would be permanently blind.

This was from the Halo short stories no? I vaguely remember this with something about taking down a scarab and Perisa having a picture of them together as kids, even though it was illegal. I’m fairly sure if she didn’t die in New Mombassa shes either retired or she’s a spartan or ODST depending on how far along in the UNSC program she is… although this is a nice thought it’s more for the bittersweet feeling or just to add a bit of reminder in the lore that yes John was once a regular human with his own plans at some point.

Not only am I confused by this last bit, where are you getting a “Kelly and John” angle lol all of Blue Team grew up as children together there practically family, also IF we are going down that route we have an entire Halo book dedicated to John and Linda basically going out for a cup of tea (see Halo: LoneWolf) lol

I think the “John and Kelly” route comes from how he has known her the longest out of every Spartan-II (as he was teamed with her and Sam as children originally, before becoming the squad leader).
