Master Chief vs. Bionicles?

Does anybody else have a problem with how similar the new enemies look to bionicles? i think they could have looked so much better. A metal looking outer body, with a glowing inside (brain? head?) is so cliche.

Err… which particular BIONICLEs are you talking about? I guess the crawlers could be some kind of rahi, but nothing looks like the watchers or knights. Actually, maybe the vahki sort of look like the knights. Seems awfully shallow to compare them to BIONICLEs, though. And why’s that a bad thing? BIONICLE was awesome. I miss it so.

Bionicles are awesome but yeah, I don’t really dig the new enemy designs. I feel like eventually I’ll warm up to it, but for now they just look… Weird.

Failed thread is full of fail.

Halo 4? More like… Bionicle Power Rangers Call of Duty Lost Planet Crysis 4.

According to the forum of course. :stuck_out_tongue:

You sir, made me laugh really hard. <3

Now as for them being new and odd looking, yes but Knights kind of scare the crap out of me. That whole open mask/helmet to see a skull screaming at you will give me nightmares for a while.

I think anybody whining about the visual aspect of the game is completely insane.
Sure, the Promethean Knights remind me strongly of a lot of things (primarily Space Pirates in Metroid Prime and Warp Spiders in 40k)but that makes it more awesome from my perspective.
If you can’t handle inspiration taken from other franchises you might as well dislike every single creation of mankind. We all learn from somebody else.

I was instantly captivated from the moment I saw it, I thought it looked really cool and scary, I’m sure the “masks” serve some purpose other than to scare the crap out of people when trying to subdue and kill them, but maybe that is its function, in which case it’s very effective. But Master Chief is frikkin’ Master Chief so he just brushes it off.

At first I thought this was a link to a Robot Chicken episode. Then I read it and I was disappointed.

The Prometheans designed there military to not only be powerful; but to be horrific as to scare away enemies.
Like an Air Force pilot puts a shark face on his plane.
The enemies shown at E3 are non-sentient, which means they are drones.
This gives them an obvious advantage.

Side note, Toa Jaller (Mahri version) was the bomb back in the day!

On topic - Funny thing is one of my friends that never played Halo said that these new creature indeed looked like bionicles, And now that I’m actually taking a close they that sort vibe to it.

This would be a half-hearted explanation, because these entities aren’t the Forerunner military. Why would they make such puny things when they’ve also got war sphinxes? Plus there’s a whole caste of Forerunners dedicated to fighting wars, and they’re all four meters tall and beefy enough to crush human bones with ease, wearing armour that is six times as powerful as MJOLNIR armour. Whatever these are, they couldn’t possibly be intended to represent the military might of the Forerunners – the Forerunners were much, much, much more formidable than this.

Edit: Jaller Mahri? What about Jaller Inika? The mask of Fate was basically Jedi powers! And having lightning mixed with his fire? Totally more awesome. All the Mahri should feel bad for losing every awesome unique thing they had as Inika, in exchange for… well, not drowning.

Dude the Promethean Knight looks nothing like a a Bionicle. This guy looks more like a Bionicle than the Knight does.

I thought the glowing skull looked pretty damn awesome, I thought it was original, what else has had something like that? Unless you somehow think its like the brains in the tank in those old cartoons.

See I think these like others myself included think the Prometheans are corrupted in some way.

And dude…I think Jaller was the first to have a pet like creature as a Toa though I agree fire and water does not go well together he pretty much held his owned ground. And about his mask power when he became a Mahri is pretty BA having sonar, like come on man.

Well we’ll just sit back and let you make the whole game since you OBVIOUSLY know what is best

These are not Forerunner militants, they are Promethean, and the Prometheans were thought to be wiped out, except for one from what I’ve read (which isn’t much).
These are probably drones of a PBG class, which were hidden away in an under ground bunker or something… IDK. Anyway, what does that have to do with Promethean=Bionicles.

I hope so. I’ve devised for myself several types of explanations that I would find acceptable and intriguing, that amongst them.

You’re saying that you think being able to see with sound is even comparable to being able to tilt fate in just about any situation to make himself come out on top?

You’re mad and I’ll have no part in your chicanery. Good day, sir!

I guess I like a more simpler power than some thing over power, but if you were to ask me what my favorite power mask is? It has to be the mask of the life everybody’s fan favorite.
