Master Chief vs Arbiter

Personally, and don’t hate me for this… I preferred the Arbiter. Certainly not his missions, or playing as him in Halo 2, but in terms of the complexity of his character and his ongoing brotherhood with Rtas Vadum and everyone else on the Shadow of Intent and his unwavering loyalty to Chief on Halo 3 (which was the greatest Halo alliance of them all) where he flies in solo to High Charity to rescue Chief, backs him up on their way to kill Truth in “The Covenant” and guns down opposition from the turret on a warthog on their was to the Dawn, the Arbiter not only seeks to redeem himself but then becomes a fantastic presence in all games which he’s in. A complex character with some awesome quotes and a great voice.

Also I’m sure the Arbiter would win in a fight.

Hating on someone who likes Arbiter more wouldn’t make much sense. He’s incredibly cool. The idea for his character was to give you an insight into the Covenant side of the story in Halo 2. But, what’s the point of doing that with someone who can’t rival the Chief? It’s not nearly as interesting and would make players want to skip those sections and go right back to Chief.

One of the best things Bungie did was to make Arbiter an equal to the Chief without him being like the Covenant version of him, if that makes sense. Machine and nerve vs. flesh and faith. Incredible character and I hope to see more of him in the coming games.

I think that the Arbiter would win, but it wouldn’t be a stomp. Bungie made the Arbiter as the Chief’s covenant equal but I think that the Arbiter’s edge in experience would triumph over Chief.

Yeah the Arbiter is a great character in Halo and sure with an energy sword he will win a fight against MasterChief

i agree with you that Arbiter is indeed a well thought-out, deep character, i love his quotes, his bravery, his unshakeable faith and loyalty, but…
chief is all that and more, we have a good idea of who Arbiter is, but if you think about it we dont really know a lot about the chief, personally i follow characters like the chief with great interest, the chief is an icon, his psychology is much deeper than that of the Arbiters; where others see a faceless mask, i see an individual whos silence is deafening, im so mesmerised by chiefs character that i cant decide if i want to delve deeper or remain in the mystery that surrounds him

of course im not trying to convince you to switch sides, i respect your opinion  but Arbiter winning in a fight against the chief?? now thats something i cant see happening friend B)

Everyone has an opinion. It’s interesting to read about someone picking the Arbiter over the Master Chief. It’s something you don’t read nor hear about very often.

It would be a close one but I feel Arbiter will win he is quick on his feet, while chief is just a huge tank…

J’aime les deux, je ne peux jamais choisir lequel des deux je préfère.

I love them both. I will get them tattooed on my body soon. That’s how much I love them.

Arbiter

It’s a quote…from a UNSC Marine

While it is true that the Arbiter is quick on his feet, you have to remember that Spartans were augmented to have quicker reaction times, move at supersonic speeds and have the strength to pick up vehicles. I’m not saying that your choice is wrong. I respect your opinion, but these are some things that many people have forgotten.

Both characters are awesome but I love the Arbiter

I like both characters equally, I never understood the hate for his character back in Halo 2. It expanded the Halo lore in a very interesting way, we got to know more about the Covenant and their zealous beliefs.

His character was interesting, in some ways, more complex than Chief’s. If Joseph Staten didn’t take that ballsy direction to include that type of story arc, Halo would have turned out a lot differently in terms of lore.

Well Arbiter is one of my favorite characters in Halo but I have always preferred the Chief.

Wow its really hard to say both were born and breed to fight but the difference between the both is the Arbitrator is trying to unite his people after there civil/religions war as Master chief was fighting to save his speices in a genocideal war that I dont mean to point fingers (Arbitrator) and Covent try to eradicate from the universe and the only common groud they have is they are both Bad -Yoink!- and they need their own PPV showing if they do fight UNSC UNSC
