I thought the scenes between Master Chief and The Didact were great, from the writing to the performances. Do you agree?
Each of the main characters, The Chief, Cortana, and the Didact, were each pretty well fleshed out (the Didact was through terminals). It’s about time we see some actual character development in a Halo game. It also contrasts the characters really nicely, notice how Chief showed a complete lack of empathy after the Composer scene, while Cortana realizes how awful the situation is, with her own mortality giving her empathy for the humans. The Didact was well developed, in the way his course of action was affected by the matter at hand, in just a few short minutes through the terminals.
The side characters (Del Rio, Palmer, and to an extent Lasky) were more one-dimensional, but I think that was done as a conscious decision to focus more on Chief and Cortana.
What scenes? Didact was in one cutscene for like a minute then falls the side of the bridge at the end.
Now the scenes between MC and Cortana were good, you could see master chiefs concerns and denials about cortana in his voice when he was talkin to her.
