Master Chief Takes Off Invisible Helmet? Sloppy Work!

So, in the final scene of Halo Anniversary when the Master Chief takes off his helmet and places it beside him if you look really closely his hands are empty. His hands are out stretched as if he’s holding something but it isn’t there.

This is well and truly sloppy work 343 Industries.

Now I know 343 didn’t make every aspect of the game and that a significant chunk of the development was handled by Sabre and Certain Affinity but this is 343’s game and they have the final word.

In the credits for the game there are scores of QA testers that supposedly checked out every aspect of the game. So how does something this obvious slip through?

At some point someone from 343i had to have looked at this cut-scene and said “Alright, I’m happy with that, that’s completely fine”.

It’s this lack of polish and attention to detail that gives me a lot of concern about Halo 4. I will be giving 343 the full benefit of the doubt however because they deserve a chance to prove themselves but this … this is kind of obvious and sloppy.

Here is the cut-scene if you wanna see for yourself, make sure it’s on HD so you can get a good look but the best way to see it is on a TV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkKGcgQlzdU

Ummmm… who cares?

It’s not too much of a deal but if they were aware of it I would’ve thought they’d fixed it.

I honestly don’t know what to say to this.

> Ummmm… who cares?

Agreed, I would have just said “Lol, that’s kinda funny” and moved on.

I noticed this too on my first play through. I was extremely disappointed. I’m now even more disappointed to see that it wasn’t a glitch or anything.

> Ummmm… who cares?

Me

It’s barely noticeable. And even if you could see something in there, there’s nothing to see.

You act like they were supposed to devote all of their attention to CEA, why is that? Yes, the cutscenes are pretty screwed up, but what do you expect? They’re focusing on Halo 4’s development.

It’s zoomed out so far it’s barely noticeable. I wouldn’t let it get to me so much.

I never said that. I just think its sloppy work that something so obvious wasn’t fixed. There hundreds of testers. It was obviously noticed, then ignored.

Makes you worry about the future of Halo. The devil is in the details.

No, it makes you worried about the future of Halo. Apparently, something so insignificant means the world is going to end.

Beside, I looked over it, and you’re wrong. The Chief does have the helmet.

In the above video, you can clearly see the gold faceplate of the helmet.

Did you see the comments for this video? They said Anniversary sucks because theres no sprinting, the weapons are unreal, and the maps didn’t live up to the originals!

  1. CE didn’t have Sprint.
  2. Its 2552, of course its unreal. Its a Sci-Fi!
  3. The exact remake of the original map doesn’t live up to the original, or technically, itself?
  4. Boohoo, Anniversary is what its supposed to be… CE Anniversary.
This is the community we don’t want. Those whining over things known for months that would and wouldn’t be in the game.

The horror.

You know what happened in the original game? MC takes off his helmet and underneath there is…another helmet! Totally non-canonical man.

Absolute shambles i tell you.

It was there when I replayed that mission today. Probably a loading error if it doesn’t appear.

The same as Toa Freak, I see that gold faceplate of the helm between his hands, and saw it the first time I completed the game in Heroic in a TV.

It can be difficult to spot due it’s the exact same color as the rest of the suit, but it’s still there.

I didn’t even see it and it was in HD.

I only hope your joking…cause I see the helmat all the time, even in the ending

I’ve done two complete playthroughs of CEA so far. Once on easy just to mess around and check things out, and another co-op legendary with a friend who never played CE before. While the easy run did show the Master Chief take off helmet, in the co-op legendary run I noticed the helmet wasn’t there. So perhaps it has to do with it being Legendary, or even on co-op, or perhaps it just happens at random, but I know for a fact that sometimes it isn’t there.

I can see the helmet.
