I don’t know if we still have the flash light in Halo 4, I hope we do. It would probably occupy the upper D-Pad button. But, now that I think about it, why wasn’t it on the control schemes? If its not back I will be greatly saddened.
So, that leaves us with one more button on the controller, the lower D-Pad button.
We are a really high ranking guy. So I think it would be cool if we could tell marine and SIVs where to go instead of running right at the enemy like idiots. If we could use the Down button to select and deselect the people and vehicles we want to command, and then place a marker on the ground for them to go to, I think that would be awesome.
P.S. In Halo 2 we were able to Dual-Wield by holding down Y over a Dual-Wield-able weapon. So even with this feature, and all buttons occupied, we could still Dual-Wield in Halo 5.
I’m more confused about Personal Ordnance Drops.
Left and Right DPad switch Grenades
Left, Right, and Down DPad choose POD.
now while POD isn’t shown in the Control Scheme, I’m wondering how this will work. If I pick up Plasmas and I really need them to stick a guy to survive, but I have Frags out, and my POD is waiting for me and I don’t want to give the enemy my POD, am I forced to either send in my POD or die?
OT: Flashlight in previous Halos were nearly worthless. there was rarely anything really dark that needed your Flashlight, but I’m sure 343i could make those kind of situations, thus needing the Flashlight. I’m not upset about MC not having his classic Flashlight, and I’m assuming it’s there, but during the Campaign, he never needs it, thus making it where you never need it.
But Up DPad would work well for that.
and Down DPad needs some love, and people have suggested what you said, so this would satisfy that portion.
and yes, if Dual-Wielding comes back, Halo 2 style pickup would definitely work.
That would be cool. But hopefully AIs will stand a chance this time around :P.
I think a nice detail they could add is SIVs were better then marines. Not to much, just like they would be smarter, and would have a better aim and can take more damage once they’re shield droped.
Maybe something like this:
Marine/ODST: Halo: Reach Elite Minor/ officer but evades less
Spartan IV: Halo: Reach Elite Officer with better shield and evades less
I just want them to be better: Not so good they can take on everything, but not so bad a few jackels at once is’nt a threat. At least smart enough so they know a good time to throw a grenade.

I completely forgot about the Ordinance Drops. Well that’s only for multiplayer and my idea doesn’t concern multiplayer so it doesn’t matter anyway.
The flashlights lack of useful time sis a serious issue. It needs to be given more times to shine. For multiplayer we should be able to pick our night vision method.
As for your POD concern, I’d really like an answer to that as well. Maybe we’ll get a notification that we have the POD available, then we can hit a D-Pad button to choose what we want, or hit up to put the POD away for later.
DPad down should lower weapon like H2
> DPad down should lower weapon like H2
No, simply pressing a button to lower your weapon is a wast of space. Lowering your weapons should be done with a button combo like in Halo Reach, and I think Halo 3 as well.
Maybe we could make decisions like calling in certain types of vehicles to go through an area with. But, this would only be for areas that we don’t yet know what to expect.
With the back button, in campaign, we could have a list of commands to use for our SIVs, Marines, and ODSTs.
Please don’t bump your thread when nobody responds. Threads die out after a while.
> Please don’t bump your thread when nobody responds. Threads die out after a while.
I don’t really see why one or two bumps is bad. Sure if you do too many then it looks ridiculous, but one or two, I’d say is a fair amount. If nobody respawns after that, then you let it die.
If someone wants to see if they can get some more feedback on whatever they wanted to say, then whats the harm? One of my last comments, I’m not sure if it would be considered a bump or not(I know the one above it was), I don’t think it would be, but I had another idea so I added it to the thread, putting it in the OP as an Edit would be in vain, because nobody would see it, considering its on a dying thread that has probably sunk to deep to be seen again without a reply.
Rather than telling people not to bump, I think it would be more logical, and more fair, to tell people to only bump twice at max.

Quick Fix:
Switch Grenades: Tap <- or ->
OD selection: HOLD <-, V, or ->

Sounds good, but wouldn’t that still switch the selected grenade type? Or does it select another grenade type if you release the button early?
