Master chief shared kill Spartan Mark

The advertisement for halo five let us to believe one of the two were going to die and I vote that it’s not chief but since they advertise that I definitely think a Spartan lock should be killed by master chief would be a great addition to the story

Just remember that in halo 5 fight chief used only 0.00000000001% of his true power

I believe the advertisements for Halo 5 were meant to make you see both sides of the story. Chief’s side of him doing his own mission for the sake of humanity & Locke’s side of following military orders from ONI to capture a rogue Spartan. Obviously in game the narrative was a bit different but that’s a whole other discussion.

Considering at the end of Halo 5 Chief & Locke seemed to unite against a common enemy (Cortana) I doubt they’ll be fighting each other anytime soon.

If anything I imagine Locke could die to Escharum; the current Banished leader to set a serious example that he’s someone not to be messed with. That’s just my thoughts at least.

Well there is a brute with a helmet very similar to Lockes on his shoulder. So maybe he dies

No, that would be incredibly stupid. I still don’t understand the bloodlust some of y’all have for Locke. Being underwhelmed by his character? Okay, I get that. But why the hell would Chief kill a fellow human, Spartan, and ally? The only reason Locke and his team went after Chief and his team is because they went AWOL. You don’t do that in the military and making exceptions like I know some of y’all think Chief should get because he’s “a hero” would set a bad precedent. Did you not listen to Hunt the Truth and remember how Ben was told that while the UNSC pretended it was all authorized, they were incredibly nervous to have Chief just doing whatever? Like, Benedict Arnold was a hero for America until he betrayed the rebellion. Not saying Chief would be that way, but being a hero isn’t a pass to do whatever you want.

In fact, had Locke not been on his tail then Chief would have be captured and imprisoned by Cortana. Locke risked his life to save him.

So, if you have an actual reason why Chief should uncharacteristically kill another human who is not an enemy outside of your pettiness, I’d love to hear it.

I believe there was a toy released of a brute that had Locke’s helmet as a shoulder piece…

Why? They don’t have any real beef with each other. Locke did his job to capture rouge Spartan IIs and he did it without fanfare. They have no real reason to kill each other, the ads were just hype to manufacture a conflict that wasn’t there.

Doesn’t mean he’s dead. The brute can take that armor piece as a trophy and Locke scurry away from the fight.

Didn’t say he was dead…just said there was a toy made with lockes helmet as a shoulder piece. :man_shrugging:t2:

Why. It doesn’t even make sense story wise for the Chief to kill Locke.

Thank you for always being the one person to bring a voice of reason to the lore community, just like how people hate Tanaka and think she is useless when she’s participated in several missions outside of Halo 5.

Sorry…didn’t mean to insinuate* he was dead. Must have been confusing…
