Well i guess they can’t give him the medal if they aren’t aware of his capture as a POW? We don’t even know when he got captured, was it before his encounter with the infinity or after. Its not even mentioned in the game, and come on its the master chief…just how long can even the prometheans keep him there

This. It was just an advertisement and in no way canon to the game or the universe.
The only real “capture” the chief endures is when the didact is first released and he lifts chief up for a bit before throwing him into the wall.
Oh and it wasnt just a promethean, it was the didact.

Either way, stuff in it is canon, Johns Mother(if it is John’s mother is shown for the first time) that was pretty important.
He was already captured in one of the books. So he should of already had that medal.

Ghosts of Onyx, if I’m correct. No that was a temporary pause to the mission due to Kurt saving them. They weren’t POW’s until confirmed they were prisoners is what I’m saying
