Master Chief on Xbox one

Spartans…

what am about to post is purely my opinion. I really hope some of you share the same opinion as mine.

Don’t, just don’t give us this *** about making MC more human and giving him awkward lines. He is a man of a few words. Many players felt the connection to MC because of that.

second: Please, am begging you 343. DON’T show he’s face.

The chief was a mystery, Part of Halo. Showing he’s face ruins the mystery. I’ve never pictured the chief. Each player had their own imagination and drew their own hero. That’s what was so magical about it.

Thanks to you I know now he’s an old snake.

Please don’t take this any further.

I disagree.

The master chief in halo 4 was still a man of few words.

Second: John is his own charecter so seeing his face wouldnt hurt me as a fan.

I disagree.

seeing John face will ruin the whole experience. It wouldn’t be the same. That’s why he’s face was hidden the last 3 games and many feels the magical connection to him.

Each to their own taste.

We already knew he was in his late 40’s. Plus, his face was hidden for 3 games simply because the gamer could ‘imagine it was themself’ in the armour.

I know what you mean OP, but I honestly don’t think showing his face is going to ruin anything tbh. Seeing his face doesn’t detract from his character at all. I think the community gets too wrapped up on this simply for the sake of it, but everyone’s opinion is different.

~ Duck.

I disagree completely.

New Chief > Generic-canned Space Marine

Generic-canned Space Marine = Old Chief

therefore,

New Chief > Old Chief

Thanks Duck.

That’s is exactly what I mean. Everyone imagine them self as the chief. And for me and many others I knew it will ruin our experience.

Mystery it was keeps people intrigued and interested.

Agreed.

I understand that the mystery and intrigue of his character was a prime driver for his development, but there was nothing wrong with him being a quiet guy who did what he was told. It was effective enough to let the player know that they had a job to do.

Personally, I’ve never really felt like I am the Chief. He has always been his own character and with Halo 4 343i finally started to develop his character on screen.

It’s about time if you ask me that John’s character gets developed in the games and I think it was a smart and appropriated move from 343i to show or rather starting to show that even the Master Chief is just a human being.

We all have different opinions, but, I’m with the OP on this one, I also had my own personal vision of John, and there’s another game that was not ruined but could have done without revealing it’s heroes face, that was Ninja Gaiden 3, there was no need to give Rya Hayabusa a face, I had my own vision of that character too,

Keep John under wraps, or a helmet even lol.

I don’t want to see his face either, and I definitely agree with your reference to Master Chief having too much dialogue, at least during first-person.

Seeing his face in the Legendary ending (or at least the upper portion of his face) was extremely disappointing.

I agree as well. I don’t ever want to see his face. I don’t even want the option to because I know I will and I will just come away angry for having done so. I always liked that mystery in the helmet that drove me crazy for not seeing it. The eyes just showing looked cool and I actually liked that part and I wouldn’t mind seeing it again now that I know what it looks like. Id just rather leave the rest up to me and my imagination and curiosity.

We’ve seen his face dozens of times in books and comics.

Chief in Halo 4 was more like how he is in the books. That’s where he needs to be.

Bungie copped out of developing Chief as a character. Trying to push the illusion that you were the Chief.
The problem is… the Chief is the Chief. There are books on him, the first came out before CE. They need Chief to be a character, not a player.

The problem is that you aren’t the Chief.

The Chief is a separate character, his own character. He has books about him, comics about him as a kid, descriptions of him, and his own dialogue.

That’s the -yoink-ing point of the Reclaimer saga and the novels he’s been in!

i’m in agreement with this, i dont care if they show his face or not even though they’ve already described what it looks like it to an extent in the books. but its time they expand on his character and one of the few things i liked about halo 4 was how they started to develop him as more than a generic bad*** soldier that only really spoke in one-liners.

97% Disagree on the ‘more human’ and talking part.
I loved hearing his amazing voice in the game, but I wouldn’t want him to become a chatterbox like Cortana is/was in Reach Firefight. Non-canon I know, but honestly you couldn’t pick up a weapon or shoot anything or even reload or breathe without her saying someting when using her FF Voice.

As you said, everyone has their opinions.

I definitely wouldn’t want to see the entirety of John’s face though. The legendary ending in Halo 4 was good enough. It’s a recurring theme in the series I hope continues. That being said, it wouldn’t be the end of the world if they do show his face eventually. Disappointing maybe, but not anything more than that.

Never said I was him, I just have my own vision of what he’s like form what I have read and played, ask four people to read a description of somebody, then ask them to draw that person or dictate to an artist what they imagine, all will be different.

So I assume you dislike movie adaptations of books by default then?

I thought we have already seen master chief’s Face so what’s the big deal?..

Half the comments- That’s not Halo 3, you noob! That’s Halo 2!
