At the end of Halo Escalation’s Next 72 Hours story arc, the Chief appears to have post-traumatic stress. He and Blue Team are now going on mission after mission against Lord Hood’s orders to relax. From what it looks like, the Chief doesn’t give a -Yoink- about his life anymore. How do u think this is going to effect him in Halo 5? Will all of the recent events (Halo 4 and Escalation) turn him into a darker character in Halo 5’s campaign? Do u think that he’ll ever lose his cool and snap into a violent outburst of rage (we never saw him do this before in the games)? Voice your thoughts and theories here!
I think that he is a ticking time bomb ready to go. and we will either need to fight him inside halo 5 or lock as him
I think he will be a dark character but not an enemy… I hope

Yeah, me too, and with all the -Yoink- that he went through (the augmentations, the war, Cortana, etc.), heck, he’s bound to either snap or become a dark character like Riddick is in the Chronicles of Riddick movies.

I hear ya man and I’m thinking the same thing too.
What if at the end of Halo 5, Master Chief walks away and completely goes rogue. In Halo 6 you only play as Locke, and Master Chief isn’t a major character, but only appears from time to time in the shadows.

I mean it would be cool. otherwise I hope it ends with a civil war to break out because of master cheif
He’ll be showing more human emotions but I doubt anything extreme.
I never understood the craze for 343’s MC. He’s exactly the same dude with more dialogue and the propensity to be a jerk to people. Nothing’s really changed.

Watch him join the Covenant with Halsey.

Well duh he’s the same character. The fact that he has more dialogue and shows more personality is just a way to evolve him. Plus, it’s just the start of MC’s personal journey.
Plus, there are pivotal moments where Chief changes.

That’s just it. I don’t think I saw much character evolution in 4. Cortana came off as a little whiny at first (I guess that makes sense when you consider the rampancy. Still didn’t care.) And I think I realized why Chief has to rely on one-liners. When he plays opposite an AI with schizophrenia, for me at least, it made him almost unlikable. He had a few other good interactions, I guess. Chief and the scientist lady on Composer was alright.
I also don’t think I ever understood the outcry from Palmer’s first line and Del Rio’s anger towards Chief. The protagonist going against orders and the big cheese going all “God Complex” and trying to arrest them? That’s standard military sci-fi. I’ve seen that before.
I’d never seen an alien council plunge a noble into shame for his failure to adhere to their lies before Halo 2. But I’m sorry if I’ve caused any knotted-jimmies. This is all just my opinion.
Chief’s weak at this time, and desperate. A perfect moment for someone to take advantage of him. Perhaps a certain disgraced Forerunner AI…
Whatever becomes of MasterChief I don’t really care he can be bad guy or good guy… He is the main character who you could say I have bonded with OVER ALL THESE YEARS… I will fight as him with my controller . And I will enjoy halo…
Aside from that I feel that HE IS a ticking time bomb.
At the start of halo 4 we was told ALL Spartans had social disorders…
Cortana to me was chiefs other half his human half…
Cortana gone…
The kid who was stolen and turned into a war machine will come out…
If his mind isn’t Frakked up then… Well I have no idea what 343 want to do with him tbh…
I personally think Halo 5 is goingt o be one of the DARKEST halos yet… MARK MY WORDS
Well 343i once said that Halo 5 will be darker than Halo 4 was or the others before.
Anyway I agree that Chief maybe a ticking time bomb.
In Halo Escalations he said that he’s not ready to die, probably because he’s not avenge Cortana. But now maybe he’s try to do something that might bring back Cortana, or he’s just searching for answers. Because he can’t change his past and the only thing he can do, is the fight he’s going into a desperate fight to solve his problem on his own way.

It’s hard not to when you say everything in Italics AND Bold it, not to mention your
unnecessary paragraph breaks and your
NEED TO CAPITALIZE STUFF…
Did I mention the…the…ellipses you put in your sentences at…__…Random… intervals…

Where did they say this? Can you give me a source?
Personally, I wanna see the Chief snap into an outburst of rage and strangle someone for a moment. Until the Arbiter talks some sense into the Chief.
I mean, like I said, the Chief is suffering from post traumatic stress, so maybe he might not only be angry at the UNSC and ONI for stealing him when he was 7 years old and putting him through almost 2 decades of hell, he might also be angry at himself for losing Cortana. Again.
