Master Chief Infected!

I don’t know that Master Chief will fight the Flood in Halo 4. But I wonder what it would be like if Master Chief were infected by the Flood. It would be interesting to see how it would affect him (us) in gameplay.

Maybe he would be fighting for his survival on top of saving the world again?

Frag on fellas!

I can imagine…

Chief losing it, Grave mind’s voice in the back of his head trying to make him turn on his allies…

Interesting thoughts there. Would make the game a little darker, and interesting.

Can the flood actually take host through his armor?

I could have sworn I saw an art peice on old man cheif being partly infected before…its been a couple of months though so im not entirely sure about where it is. Might need to google it.

It’s out there. I’ve seen it. Not the stupid looking on the ones that looks believable. Sitting with his helmet in his hand.

Question is does Chief always have to have all his armor on? I don’t know.

What does this have to do with Anniversary though? We know he doesn’t get infected on Alpha Halo. Unless you count the near-miss from the novel.

  1. False. Being an augmented human, aka Spartan 1.0, II or III means you are immune to the infection.

  2. I believe the secret was found by Bornstellar/Didact but much too late. 1 of the many gaia implanted into humanity happen to blossom from within Dr. Halsey and she augmented, unknowingly, those that were meant to be transformed by that which she did not know she already knew.

… all of our “gifted” have been gaia-heavy. Each one a calculated move taken 100, 000 years ago.

Some call it fate, others destiny. I choose neither. For I believe there is always a choice to listen to that voice inside us all.

I thought I was in Halo 4 forums. duh, my bad. Can I delete this? I feel so dumb now. I’'m a newbie. Sorry.

In Halo: the Flood he started to be infected but wasn’t able to right?

It’s correct that a Flood-spore attempted to infect the Chief but was electrocuted by Cortana, preventing the much, much later revelation that Spartans have bonuses beyond the pimpin’ suit.

Thanks Everyone. Good stuff.

Almost always. I remember reading in The Flood that he takes off pieces and feels uncomfortable. Through a series of very crazy coincidences I suppose the Flood would be able to infect him if he had removed his armor.

Would be interesting unless it ended up turning out like the malaria in Far Cry 2.

Just plain annoying more that anything that was…

It’s ok. Cortana would just call in the invincible Marines from the Pillar of Autumn to save the day.

Maybe it will be like the end of that one cheesy sci-fi, where the dudes brain is eaten but instead takes control of the alien that ate him.

Never reference Skyline, ever again… Please.

That’s time I’ll never get back
