I’m pretty sure they said we would cross paths with Chief in Spartan Ops.
Don’t ask me for a link, I just remember hearing it in an interview a while back.
Let’s be honest… not gonna happen. Like MV BLACK OPS said it would make him kinda look dumb. Besides, where’s the point in running around with the most badass Guy ever destroying every alien being next to you?

CGI Cutscenes with Chief in, bro
No thanks. Maybe have the Arbiter.
Cross paths with Chief is totally viable but it should just be a Cameo and have him do awesome stuff (like cause explosion for example) off screen while hearing his voice in that new com chat thing they have in the HUD.
If not that, CG cutscenes will work too.
I doubt having an AI for Chief would be smart though. It ruin his image as a badass by making buggy mistakes and somewhat ruin the personal attachment of players “always being the Chief”.
It’d make sense. The UNSC would be dumb to not station him on the Infinity. He should be in cut scenes. Working out his AI in game play would be hard. Too kick -Yoink-=nothing for player to do. Not enough kick -Yoink-=lame for a Spartan.
We’ll probably communicate with him and he’ll appear on our HUDs when we do but other than that, don’t expect to see him AI controlled. I really really really hope we see Blue Team this way as well.

If Blue Team is reunited, no force (not even the Ancient Evil) in the galaxy could hope to stop them.

I’d love to see blue team + the spartan-III’s from Ghost’s of onyx and the other books in cutscenes.
