Master Chief has gotten worse in every game

In Halo: CE the Master Chief was fresh out of the freezer and excited to murder fools. His walking pace would exhaust the sprints of lesser men, he could drop a hunter with a pistol shot, and he didn’t even need a seatbelt.

Come Halo 2, the Master Chief found his reticule sagging a little. He found the light recoil of an SMG difficult to control, and although the UNSC didn’t see fit to outfit him with his former exceptional weapons, he was given a standard issue battle rifle which he put to admirable use. Still, the weight of his armor slowed him down and he thought he heard himself wheezing a little.

In Halo 3 the Master Chief was genuinely alarmed at the weight of his armor, finding himself even slower than before. He’d have to do something about this soon! He almost had a heart attack when he discovered his standard issue assault rifle had only been given half a clip! What did they think he was fighting out here? Gangs of punks tagging the walls? Thankfully at the end of the day he was allowed to take a nap.

Finally in Halo 4, the Master Chief’s armor more hangs on him than holds him up. He found he could lessen its weight by shedding some backup power cores, but the result had a catastrophic effect on his shield’s energy supply. It now took much longer for his shield to begin recharging. He deemed the decision good though, because with his lighter armor now he could occasionally run short distances before his asthma got the better of him. He had never forgiven the UNSC for replacing his astonishingly good pistol with the standard issue battle rifle, but he’d gotten accustomed to the weapon. Sadly to save money they started using civilian rounds, which have much less charge in the cartridge. The wear on the weapon is less, but the power of it is as well. Luckily even though his weapons and shields were weaker than ever, Master Chief very resourcefully salvaged some ancient technology that was used on Reach during its fall, Armor Abilities!

Still he felt his age and separation from the modern world growing. He never had a problem keeping his aim straight when under fire before! He mustn’t tell Cortana. Oh wait, nevermind. Maybe this old rifle they used on Reach will help him stay away from his enemies with their new ideas and weapons.

Hopefully he could get back with the UNSC soon and get his ramshackle armor and weapons replaced, but he couldn’t quiet the fear in his heart that they’d outfit him in some cheap plastic $#!* designed by an even lower bidder.

lol. nice story.

That was pretty funny. I lol’ed at the smg bit.

His forearms armor in Halo 4 does look like they are hanging.

How would you feel having a woman’s voice in your head 24/7

Good read

I don’t think he’s getting worse, just tired. I mean come on, it seems like nothing gets done unless Chief does it himself. Even in the future, I don’t think they can fix fatigue.

Indeed.

Halo 3: Finish the Fight.

Chief: “Oh thank god! Now I can get some rest.”

Halo 4: Start another bloody damn fight.

Chief: “You gotta be kidding me… Goddamnit!”

Halfway through, cortana going rampant.

Chief: “Gettin’ real tired of your -Yoink!- Cortana…”

This is what happens when you get old.

> This is what happens when you get old.

Lol, indeed.

Lets face it, chief is gettin too old for this alien killin -Yoink- and deserves a nap.

I bet his first thought when he saw that elite on the forward unto dawn was ‘God -Yoink!- am I the only one who knows how to save the entire human race?!’

YES!

life sucks,doesnt it Chief?

Not even Spartans can defeat the test of time.

I mean, really, how old is the cheif now? He started training his body and mind into the perfect killing machine when he was five, and has been doing so ever since. And we have no idea the long term effects of enhancements like his… His body very well could have just started giving up.

He is in his 40s.

Well lets see, according “The fall of Reach” book, the spartans acquired their amour when they were about 15, fought the covenant without shields for about 6 years then the chief obtained Cortana and DR Halsey in the year 2452. By this time, he is 21. He and the other spartants go on a mission, Reach is attacked, all the other spartans die and Halo CE occurs. Still 21. Halo 4 occurs in the year 2557. So thats an additional 5 years onto the 21, making him around about 26. So, since this might not be exactly accurate, he’s either in his late 20’s or early 30’s. Definitely not in his 40’s.
