i was just thinking wouldn’t it be cool if master chief had flashbacks of hhis head kinda like chakas in the forerunner trilogy of forthenco? It would be sort of like halo 3 when masterpiece is receiving messages from Cortana except they are distorted flashbacks of say the Lord of admirals (forthenco). Master chiefs evolution was sped up my the librarian in halo 4 and I would like to see that process in halo 5 as well.
I dunno. Those Cortana moments were pretty aggravating. I guess your idea would be better though since we’d actually be getting some narrative expansion.

Seeing as im aware of the established canon. i feel the terminals are the best viable media but even then we have seen john have flashbacks in live action adverts, adaptations and full blown books on the subject matter. i personally dont see a need.

That would be cool too. I wonder how he hears the didactic in his head but cortana cannot. I really hope 343 expands on whether or not Master Chief has a significant geas. Maybe the flashbacks can be in the cutscenes and during gameplay he just hears random voices in his head? Like between firefights.
I think as long as these flashbacks are handled in a better way then Halo 3’s terrible Cortana and Gravemind sections and actually tell us things we didn’t previously know I’m for it.
