Master Chief Controller not working with Headset

So I went and bought Halo 5 and the Master Chief Controller (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/controllers/master-chief-wireless-controller)
When I plug my headset into the bottom of it though, the microphone doesn’t work.

The headset I’m using is the one that came with my XBone, the chat headset (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/headsets/chat-headset)
If I plug it into my other controller, it works fine. I’ve done the usual normal fixes like reboot the XBone, upgrade the firmware on the controller (with the headset plugged in) and try it with a 3.5mm headset (the 3.5mm headset works fine).

The XBone will detect that the headset is there, it will play sound with it, the mute light turns on/off, just the microphone doesn’t work.

Has anyone got any thoughts as to what could be wrong, or did I just get a dodgy controller?

Dukah

This is happening to me too! I bought the halo 5 edition xbox one, and the headset that came with the system didnt seem to work at all. So I bought the halo 5 A40 headset (I was planning on getting it anyways) thinking that the headset was broken.

I’ve just bought another controller that I’m going to try out tonight, but I’m 99% sure the problem is the controller. I’ve gone over all of my security and in-game settings meticulously and verified the controller is up to date.
