Master Chief Collection NEEDS Bots!

If Halo Infinite gets bots, then the Master Chief Collection should follow suit. Imagine custom Forge maps in old school Halo but you can populate them with enemy AI, or have team bots for when players quit. Halo Infinite does a mixture of having players join-in game when others quit to adding bots.

The MCC needs bots for these reasons and more. Not to mention playing customs and being able to test gameplay variants is much easier with bots, and now that the MCC has every game in the CGB, this is the logical next step.

Maybe it could happen for the MCC. I was doubtful, but seeing them in action in Infinite at least shows that a bot could navigate Halo maps somewhat competently.

The Infinite engine received quite an overhaul to support bots, and if it were to be implemented in MCC it would most likely have to be streamed through the UE4 engine if possible.

This would be definitely a nice feature to have although I don’t know how much time and programming the MCC team wants to dedicate to this and would make the MCC solidify PvP permanently.

Honestly I agree, MCC needs bots, Matchmaking won’t last forever y’know, however bots when/if the servers go down, will keep the game alive for quite some time.

I think it was originally thought of back in the bungie days, but wasn’t possible back then, it would be nice to see bots in mcc, especially as it will keep it alive longer, but not likely gonna happen

Likely never going to happen, it would need to be done on a game by game basis, and require a ton of reworking to the games and their netcode just to reach a bare minimum level of quality for a feature they never had.

It would be a lot smarter and a lot wiser to focus on getting unfinished features out the door first, like PC Splitscreen, Campaign Matchmaking, the remaining Halo 3 H:O maps, and Campaign Crossplay before trying to create new multiplayer PvP focused AI.

Bots actively assist the enemy team in slayer. Instead of just being at a slight advantage in a 4v3, you have a “teammate” who is just feeding the other team kills. It’s an awful system.

Bots would be greate for custom games at least.
and while i agree, that in slayer they are more or less feeding, in pbjective they could be at least a distraction.

beside that: i’d love to play against bots with some friends of mine, bc their skill level is nowhere near mine (bc they almost never played the game) but it would be fun to play alongside them against bots (as long as the bots are decent)

Not sure about bots but it seriously does need something to gain more players since waiting 2 hours to find no matchs is ridiculous. Though bots could be helpful in modes like Invasion to help decrease the chances of people spawn camping.

I’d personally love a mode where it’s 1 human player and then the rest are all bots, just to y’know cool off from PvP and take it easy playing PvE on PvP maps.

Should throw bots into matchmaking as well seeing the slower matchmaking that would at least help speed up the wait times

Bots would help fill empty playlists. Even if it was just for the cgb itd be cool.

Bots definitely would make empty playlists feel more lively and be overall great for the game!

I agree, it would be very nice having bots. They can be very useful not only for play testing your map, but also for Machinimas, or for practicing getting a feel for the game. You cannot always rely on real people to stay in a lobby when they do not get their way, and sometimes you need somebody (or in this case something) to play with.

Do I even need to mention custom game types with Scarabs in it to explain why bots are a good idea for the MCC?

I wholeheartedly agree. Offline bots are the future of game preservation!
