I feel that I should report this since I think this is a bug with the game.

I’ve been playing spartan ops the last few days and today I was playing chapter 9, episode 1 and once you clear the first wave of Promethean’s and have to defend a terminal and a bunch of crawlers start to spawn and you get the message “watch out they’re flanking you” the game freezes then it closes the game altogether.

At first I thought it was my disc so I tried cleaning it but the same thing happened. I then tried the mission with the digital version thinking it was the disc but the same thing happened at the same part of that mission. So I believe this is a bug in the game and would like to report this so it can get fixed ASAP.

Hopefully someone at 343 see this or at least has some knowledge about this so it can be fixed soon.

Try installing the game on an internal drive if you have it on an external drive.

could that be it because I do have it on my external drive

It might be. I read a few posts after replying to yours and it seems like the chapter you mentioned is giving a lot of people problems. Maybe hold off on my suggestion for now if the rest of MCC works fine for you. 343i might release a patch to fix the problem.

Some games don’t play nice with certain external drives which is why I suggested re-installing on your internal drive.

I can confirm this, was it me you were playing with op? Lol

What difficulty were you on? Because I played the whole thing on easy last week off an SSD.

i was playing on legendary solo

i tried your suggestion but same thing has happened still freezes so it looks like its a game bug unfortunately

Try it on a different difficulty then to see if it’s only the difficulty causing the freeze. Help them narrow it down.

I just tried it on the other difficulties and easy and normal has no issues the mission works fine but heroic and legendary both crash at the same part when you have to defend the terminal and crashes when miller tells you “they’re flanking you”

Yes! I second this! I get to the same part, the flanking bit, and boom, froze. I have all the rest beat on Legendary, it’s the only one I need to complete. I’ve reset the Xbox, redownloaded, and nothing is helping. Please patch this!

Does anyone happen to know how long it usually takes the 343 Support Team to fix a problem like this, once it’s identified, or to respond on the forum on average?

I too would like to know roughly how long this takes as there are multiple topics popping up about this issue.

I tried this 4 times with a few others on coop and then I tried again on solo, can not complete this mission it will fully crash the game every time without fail regardless. This is now the only mission I haven’t completed on Spartan ops, I literally just did a legendary play through but just need this last level, please sort this 343
