Master Chief becoming.... Human?

Master Chief is a soldier, a weapon, only having the goal and how to accomplish it in mind. Nothing else. When Cortona came along, he was the same, but in the games he seemed to be less Soldiery and more caring. People that he cared about dying, like Johnson, Captain Keyes, Miranda Keyes, (Even if he didn’t care about them, I thought he did.) But the one who stood out and everyone can agree on this is Cortana, when she died, he changed. Everything he loved is gone. At the end of Halo 4, when his Armour is being removed, it’s symbolic. Trained from a child to Search, Kill and Confirm- A Robot, that’s all, but now he is losing that and becoming… Human. What would be cool is in Halo 5 he makes mistakes and messes up on combat in the cut-scenes and losing his fighting skills because he isn’t only thinking in a one track mind. What are your impressions on my opinion and what else do you think about Halo 5’s campaign? :3

almost stopped reading after looking at what is in bold but i did read. Chief is mentally unhealthy, not to be confused with unstable, and emotionally neglected. Like all spartan 2s. He doesnt have fun or have hobbies and only knows how to fight.
Hes simular to the Arbiter in that he knows he will die in combat.

Chief is lonely. Hes probably gone to wander and find his own liberation from his battle besides death. I do see chief trying to be more human.
As for the story i think chief will try to undo the damage ONI has done to him an others. This would take him to the homeworld of the Arbiter. If you know what ONI did there than youd see the big problem of exposing this to the elites would cause.
I honestly think chief is going to break the truce cause the Arbiters crew to lose their political power and reignite the fight. Jul should have control over the prometheans and seeking out forerunner stuff with Halsey. Should diadact actualy be dead, which he should, i say its high time them precursers show back up. I call that a good set up to Milky Way Galaxy War 1: this is totally not mass effect.

^i want it to happen though

I’m assuming you read the books. If you did, you’d know that the books help flesh out Chief’s humanity to a greater extent. Through circumstances such as when he was a kid in the Spartan II program, when he killed a few ODST’s after being augmented, his relationship with other spartans such as Sam, Kelly, Fred, Linda, and Kurt, his relationship with Halsey and Mendez (which were basically the closest thing he got to parents).

His relationship with Cortana, from the first time they met up until Halo 4 is also quite interesting. He talks to her the most without a doubt. The books also explore his drive to always win no matter what the cost, which shows up extensively throughout Halo 1/2/3/4. This ties in perfectly with Halo 4 showing how after he “wins” and loses Cortana, which by that time she was basically a part of him.

On top of all that Spartan’s aren’t what you would call “mentally” healthy to begin with once they have become full fledged Spartans. This fact can and will create certain side effects.

Master Chief’s story is the perfect way to show what happens to these “weapons” (who are in fact human beings) after a life of constant trauma.

-oops double post-

Thank you for both of your posts! I have read most of the books, some I haven’t bought yet, busy with School and Work… ugh lol! I like both of your opinions of how things are with Mr. Chief!

Wow dudes you just blew my mind.

Glad we could! Hahaha, how did we do it?
