since old generations of Spartans are becoming spartan 4s along with ODST’s and others it hit me…sometime in the new trilogy will master chief become a spartan 4 or will he stay a spartan 2?
i hope he stays as a spartan 2.
I don’t think so, if I remember correctly SIIs were the most effective, but the most expensive. It would seem odd to downgrade him. Then again, these are SIVs, so I don’t know how they stack up against SIIs.

Im pretty sure that they are like more agile spartan 2s with more high tech suits so I don’t think it would be a downgrade but it would be different from what he has been almost his whole life so it could be hard to adjust.
I doubt he’ll change since changing from S2 to S4 could, in the end, be a downgrade

I don’t think any one in the UNSC would want to tamper with what makes Chief what he is. Considering Chief has saved the galaxy twice.

Hahahaha what? He will always be a spartan II. ALWAYS. You can’t revert his genetic augmentations back to normal, and why would he go through training again? He may work WITH them, But he will not become one of them.
Aren’t S4s suppose to be equivalent, or near equivalent, to an S2? It was just that the enhancement process became much safer that it allowed adults to undergo it?
I don’t think anything needs to be done to the Chief or any of the S2s, if anything they’ll just improve his armor again like in Halo 2.

By what 343i [and some Halo books] have given “us”, I will say
that to become a Spartan 4, you have to be an adult, and probably some miliarty training.Add some more training, then some augmentations.You are a Spartan 4.
While in a way that could appaly to Master Chief, the augmentatiosn he took, and the augmentations the SpartanIVs took might actually be dangerous when mixed together.
Also, the Spartans in the Spartan 2 program had a select special genes(by which Dr.Halsey picked them out from), and thus received the augmentations and training that the genes took advantage from.I don;t think the Spartans IVs will have that advantage.
Finally, there would be some downgrades too, like Master Chief having to take some “medicine” as to not go aggro all the time(Spatans IIIs only had to take special"medidcine" so they won’t aggro;in exhange for that condition, they gennerally can;t go into shock)[Reach spoiler] Like the ending of Reach.Emile didn’t go into shock when the Elite stabbed himAssuming that the Spartanas IV have to take the medicine.

Don’t know what you mean by kind of, but Master Chief is not the last Spartan 2(As in H4 I don’t know;the other Spartans II might be dead or something)
I expect the remaining S-IIs to be the leaders of the S-IV forces.
But really, I just want a blue team reunion in H4. If they’re adding a whole bunch of other spartans to the games story, I don’t see why not add the ones that actually matter too?
The Spartan-IIs and Spartan-IVs are VASTLY different programs. The only differences between the two is that they both have the goal of creating genetic supersoldiers. The Spartan-II program had a much more vigorous training program and the augmentations were delivered into their system at an age where they would be more affected by them.
The Chief cannot simply become a Spartan-IV, nor do I think he would want to.
The only previous spartan i can see becoming a spartan IV is Sgt Stacker. He is the only one main character alive that was not overly augmented. Cheif already has the augmentations, so it unlikely that he will become a spartan IV.
However, Stacker and Buck are completely likely.

he would have to downgrade for that. spartan 4 are not children they are volunteers like odst’s and regular military.the armor is not as good as well, or as heavy.

No, no, no. I don’t think you fully understand.
Master chief was raised and trained as a Spartan II, he was given the Spartan II augmentations, and IS a spartan II. He will ALWAYS be a spartan II. whether he works with the IV’s or not.
Saying Master chief would become a Spartan II is like saying one can just devolve into an ape or a “cave-man”.
