Master Chief armor should be called "Thermopylae"

I mean the armor he wears in the Campaign. I think it fits with the names of Blue Team’s armor; “Argus” (Linda), “Hermes” (Kelly), and “Centurion” (Frederick). Thermopylae is where the Spartans of ancient history made their last stand, and Master Chief was believed to be the last Spartan in Halo lore at the beginning of the series, so… you see where I’m going with this?

Also, “Thermopylae” (Master Chief’s) armor should be available as a Legendary Campaign reward… along with the Legendary visor, a la Halo 4. Just a thought.

A nice reference both ways I agree.

I would love this idea being implemented. It would make sense lore wise AND give us a reason to complete Halo 5 on Legendary for other than bragging rights.

It just plain sounds cool too!

I like it. Thermopylae armor just sounds cool.

I’d perfer it to be LASO completion. Campaign is pretty easy. I dont think we’ll see that armor outside of campaign for a while though.

It’s called ‘Mark VI Gen2’.

Chief wears a modified variant of Mark VI [GEN2] creatively named Mark VI [GEN2] MOD (I think).

Go, right now as soon you can, and PLEASE, look at Mark VI Gen 2 and then compare it to a picture of the Master Chief. Cen-fricken-turion is closer to Chief than Mark VI Gen 2.

It’s Mark VI Gen2, this canon fodder confirms it.

Sounds like a good idea. maybe we can get the original halo 3 armor look or something, like Nobles shoulders but the whole body. Basically the H2A multiplayer armor.

Except the Mark VI Gen 2 looks noticeably different than what chief wears, I don’t care what some author says, he’s not the artist.

Mark VI Gen 2 and Chief have different: Shoulderpads, Chest piece, Knee Pads, Foot covering, slightly different helmet proportions.

We have Mark VI Gen 2, but not CHIEF’s Mark VI Gen 2.

They should change it in Halo 6 if he makes a last stand and he dies so yeah

Okay, even if you refuse to believe that; Chief is wearing the same armor he had in Halo 4, in Halo 4, it’s a ret-con’d version of the armor he has been in since Halo 2. What was that called? Oh yeah, Mark VI.

Cortana modded it; there is no formal name outside of its original designation. It’s also likely we won’t be getting it anytime soon.

That’s not the point, the point is WE don’t have CHIEF’s armor. We have Mark Vi Gen 2, but it’s not Chief’s armor aesthetically. neither is Mark VI Gen 1. Even if Chief’s armor IS the Mark VI Gen 2, we have something that is named the same, thats it.

I already said this, but to clarify:
Chief wears a modified variant of Mark VI [GEN2] creatively named Mark VI [GEN2] MOD (I think).

But the looks are very different. Here is the H5 Chief armor. Here is the Mk. VI GEN1 variant. And here is the Mk. VI GEN2 variant, which is actually the H4 Multiplayer Mk. VI. Just look at them, the Multiplayer variants look nothing like the Chief’s armor, which Halopedia calls the Mk. VI MOD.

“Firmware upgrades” yeah sure, while he was a popsicle. Mediocre cop-out, 343.

It probably will get added in with the Firefight update. Just like how Mk IV came out, then Mk V after that, and 6 comes after 5…

Fun fact: After Halo 4, his helmet was crushed by the Didact so the UNSC overhauled his armor and replaced it with a Gen 2 replica (in H4 it was still technically Gen 1.)

So they have worked with it and updated it, It’s always possible they can recreate it eventually.
