Now is his armor generation two MJOLMIR made to look like Generation one mark vi MJOLNIR.or is it just Generation one with a new software.as form my understanding all of Blue team now as Gen 2 MJOLMIR armor.
His armor is confirmed to be Mk. VI GEN 2- the armor with the thrusters. This has always confused me though because his armor was upgraded to GEN 2 when he was in cryosleep by Cortana. Perhaps they’re supposed to be the same armor type, but the thrusters were added later. Frankly, I’m not sure.
EDIT: Apparently his armor in Halo 4 was Mk. VI GEN 1. I guess that his armor was still considered GEN 1 even after Cortana had upgraded it.
Now from what I can decipher from that is: Is the Mk VI Gen2 based off Mk VI Gen1? And I say yes. He was wearing Mk VI Gen1 in Halo 4, and all of Blue Teams armor are Gen2 Mk VI varients based off their identical Mk VI Gen1 varients.
Now if you want to believe the nanomachine thing… well then. They just threw that out there so “lore” fans wouldn’t freak out.
Am new to the halo series and form my understanding the Gen 2 armor puts a S-vi on Par with a S-II so Spartan II’s would have a advantage in that Armor.

See, that’s what I would think. But it doesn’t seem that way.

That makes no sense at all.

His armor was still Gen 1 in Halo 4. He got Gen 2 afterwords, modeled after Cortana’s upgraded Mk VI.

I respectfully disagree with that. If it were really a redesign by Cortana, why are the Mk VI varients worn by Blue Team based off of it (Base Mk VI model)?
I’m pretty sure the Mark designations only refer to the style at this point. The original Mjolnir used Mark numbers for each generation, but all of those are now under the Gen 1 umbrella; Gen 1 and 2 are a tier above the Mark numbers, so for example: Gen 1, Mark IV, CQB. Now with Gen 2 there aren’t Mark numbers; the Gen 2 Mark VI is just a name given for its appearance, making it a variant name like Deadeye or EVA.
For something more visual:
Gen 1, Mark IV, Standard
Gen 1, Mark IV, CQB (Daisy)
Gen 1, Mark IV, Grenadier (Jorge’s helmet)
Gen 1, Mark V, Standard
Gen 1, Mark V, Scout (Jun’s helmet)
Gen 1, Mark VI, Standard
Gen 1, Mark VI, EVA (random example)
Gen 2, Helljumper (Buck)
Gen 2, Mark VI (John)
Gen 2, Hermes (Kelly)
Gen 2, Centurion (Fred)
Gen 2 Mark VI is a name, given for its appearance, not a class.

It makes no sense for them to waste resources on all those armors to give Spartans a choice of how they look.it is not a fashion show.its fighting for the human race.

Surely you don’t actually think armour is purely cosmetic in-universe.
Even the Visor types have different hardware/software and specialize in different areas, that was a thing in H4 as well.

Like I said am new to the series am playing halo reach now and the armor is pretty much cosmetic so far form my point of view it is waste of tax player dollars/credits to have so many types of armor for such a small force.there like what 1000 spartan Vi’s less then 250 spartan III’s and like hand full of spartan II’s.
