How does Master Chief have Cortana’s A.I. chip in the trailer? I thought it was destroyed at the end of Halo 4 when she died?
Cortana doesn’t actually live in the chip at all times, she is transferred in and out of it. As simply put as possible. It’s a thumbstick, and she’s data being carried on it that can be transferred to any hard-drive it connects to. It just happens to be the exact same thumbstick Keyes handed him in Halo CE.
So did Chief have a similar chip in the trailer or is it the exact one from Halo 4? Because in Halo 4 the Didact blew up a terminal that Cortana was inside on the last level.
i was thinking the same thing, the chip was destroyed in the terminal

Chief didnt actually put her chip in that terminal on Mantles Approach - how could he Forerunners just happen to have the same Data ports as Humans? Yeah right!
She “jumps” from the Chip to the terminal, then its destroyed. He still has the actual chip even if Cortana isnt in it.
If you look at the games, there are actually two chips. On is a tiny chip, which is what Chief is putting into ports all the time in Halo 4. The other is a bigger one that fits in Chief’s palm. That’s the one Keyes initially gives Chief, and what we see him holding onto in the trailer.
It’s symbolic… It doesn’t have to make sense…

I am pretty sure it was destroyed. But its not like chief can’t get a blank disc to reload her to. What I really want to know is where she has been. I was pretty sure she was backed up by the librarian on requiem when chief received a new gene augment from the librarian. How though did she get of requiem since it was thrown into the sun. Guilty sparks is looking for the librarian right now so I bet where ever the librarian is we will find cortana. As well as guilty sparks and the Bornsteller didact. Halo x1 will be rife with new and old characters. Johnson is coming back baby! He knows what the lady’s like.
