Since 343 is saying that they will dive deeper into the Master Chiefs character and say he will be acting a little different this time around. I can’t wait to see where 343 is going to take this though i will be sad if they pull the hype card and come up short in this regard (I.E Chief handled the same way as he was in original trilogy with little to no character development).
I think maybe he’ll be pushed to his edge; all the combat from the Human-Covenant and loss of many friends over the years will finally start to take a toll on the Chief and while he probably won’t be breaking down and losing his sanity, his character might take a turn for the worse.
Then we have his realtionship with Cortana. We all know that’s deeply rooted and both of them are attached to one or another. With the possibility that Cortana is falling into Rampancy, Chief might have to go against one of his closest allies and that would probably gut wrenching even for this bad -Yoink- Spartan considering all the pair has been through.
