master cheif

from halo combat evolved to halo 4-5 master chief has been the main character other than in reach and odst comment what you think will be the biggest conflict in 3-4 its about Cortana do you think it will be about Cortana again

In a sense, yes, he seems to be trying to find a way to “bring back” Cortana.

The grammar is strong in this one.

Based on what, exactly?

Probably not. Honestly, the Reclaimer Saga seems to be based around developing Chief as a character. This was set in motion in Halo 4 partly through Cortana’s death. One of most human experiences is grief and a sense of loss. So it would be really cheap just to go on a mission to awkwardly revive or search for Cortana because of her appeal to fans. Besides, I think it is already too similar to Halo 3’s plot.

It’s possible that Chief’s memories of Cortana may influence his beahviour in Halo 5 or that the a malevolent character like the Gravemind might attempt to lure or corrupt Chief using promises of reviving Cortana. And I guess it’s always possible that ONI might attempt to create another Cortana model after this story arc is over, as Cortana herself suggested. But I don’t want to go on a cheesy quest to ‘save’ Cortana again. It’s disrespectful to Halo 4’s ending and it’s stagnant towards Chief’s character development. And it’s already been done, as I said.

English may not be their first language, you know.

probably the 1st teaser trailer when he is still carrying her chip.
also in the fall of reach novel after their first mission when Cortana left chief it says he felt a strange emptiness after she was gone.
when working together she is literally a part of him and his mind not just a disembodied voice.

Yes, based on the first teaser. John looking at the empty chip in the teaser mimics the opening trailer in Halo 3, where Johnson asks where Cortana is, while John looks at the chip.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I don’t think Cortana is coming back, mendicant bias is the best candidate for Chiefs new AI, if he even gets another AI.

The chip is basically the equivalent of a fallen comrade’s dog tags. His carrying it symbolizes his guilt and that her absence is meaningful to him.
Halo 4 made it very clear that she was dead for real. I wouldn’t expect her to be in Halo 5 as anything more than a recorded message, or maybe in a flashback.

If I were Master Chief, the greatest conflict would be between you and me, considering how bad that grammar is.

You win the halo forums today! Basically, I agree with everything said here. Cortana and Chief weren’t really together all that long by the way. Their bond was made because they experienced so much war and bloodshed together.
