I’m not here to say they’re useless but there’s 2 things wrong. 1 your allies can’t garrison them like johnsons bunker which makes no senese, 2, the mastadon despite being an apc has the same armour as a happy meal and the gun it has never seems to be able shoot anything. It’s fine being slow but it shouldn’t die instantly after it’s 3 week journey.
both of these carrier units are not worth there cost.
i could see some sort of sniper ranger plays however with there current health and cost no one is going to use them. if they do vs good players they will just fail hardcore

put fully upgrade marine in more than one mastadone, they heal each other.
mobile garrison seems fine
I believe you can’t put teammates troops in because that would give you control of their troops. Johnson’s bunker is stationary so the other player still has control of his units.
They’re fun in team games. But, yea, otherwise I haven’t come across a practical use for them in1v1.
Yeah I’d say mastadons need a hp buff but I haven’t played with phantoms enough to comment on them
The problem with the mastodon is its low health and damage. Because it hurts troops on its explosion its better to just use the spots to roll out extra marines who will draw fire and won’t hurt their comrades on death. I totally want this unit to be awesome but its not yet. I think having cool troop transports that can roll in, unload and do damage is a great idea. Often it can be a hassle directing and navigating all the troops with the UI so having a way to condense and be more direct is way better and just fun, sadly Mastodon is not the answer…yet.
I would be up for replacing the Mastodon with a Warthog troop transport. Spawns a marine in passenger side for basic attacking and every unit you load in adds to the damage like Mastodon but is much quicker and deals less damage on death. Would be much more valuable in a speed game.

Laughed. Very hard. Thanks you.
The transports definitely need some love. They rely a little too much on having infantry garrisoned in them for damage. And they are really fragile for what they are.
Another upgrade would be nice, too. In fact, the Log about Phantoms specifically mentions an upgrade that makes them move faster, but that is not in the game as far as I can tell.

Allies cant garrison them because the other player takes control of them like sharing units. The bunker is a building

log?
phantoms with core infantry are great for chasing and taking out air

Phoenix log. Go to campaign and then to Phoenix logs there’s a log for every vehicle, map, hero, mission, etc
They have alot of potential. But i agree with health buff. Or atleast decrease cost and pop

but those are the collectibles. by the way I have only played the campaign for a few seconds

I think the idea of Infantry making their damage viable a cool idea! I think it would be more viable to increase their health, I mean, its a phantom, Phantoms were never supposed to destroy anything, but rather take a beating, and protect those inside to fire from safety, or get them to their transport destination.
Maybe a shield, or a health boost would make it more survivable?

Yeah, Mastodons with Marines & Combat Tech. They heal themselves and vehicles nearby on the go. I think Mastodons when running a tank army are really helpful.
Phantoms are absolutely useless. If they had a heavy turret and more HP like in the E3 demo, there’d be some use in using them. But they don’t, so there isn’t.
So i had four mastadons stack with cyclops, snipers, marines, and hellbringsers lead by jeromantis and wrecked and mopped up 3 seperate battles with minimal reinfocment. I think i squeeses in a few nightgals and hornets.and when my pop got low. Omega squad. I think the mastadons a good tanks in group. But that pop makes them horrible. Im cool with health and dps if the pop cost for mastadon is lowered. I think its abit high especialy considering your going to group up your troops in them.
flameadons wreck bases.

phantoms aren’t useless, they are good for transporting and I’m sure they are good for chasing air if u have core infantry in them
I liked the Phantom, but the Mastadon was complete trash I thought. The thing died instantly by just a few Warthogs despite being loaded with 4 Cyclops w/ shock rounds.
Hunters are much better anti-vehicle I think and being in a flying bunker gives them a better boost vs vehicles. I can’t imagine wasting the points on either of them though when they can be spent on much better leader powers.
