There, I finally said it. Don’t see to many posts about this. Focus on making Halo 6 (infinite) a single player game first and the co-op and MP will just work. That is what happened with Halo CE. Bring back old favorites, like dual wielding, bubble shields (armor Items), armor abilities. Heck, even keep the advance mobility from Halo 5. All of those will be extremely useful if the game is open world and cover is scarce. But most impartiality, program the AI to be good with lots of diversity in enemy and allies, just like Reach. Not just scale their damage dealt in difficulty setting. Well, actually, the most important thing is a good story, making you want to replay the campaign missions infinitely (pun intended). Just make it an alien shooter again that is meaningful like the old Halo games.
PS: Add custom games with lots options for single player and co-op for MP maps and firefight. And make unlockables (we all know there are there) unlockable in single payer.

Not really. The multiplayer team of CE did a great deal of work to make the multiplayer what it is today. Without their efforts we wouldn’t even have power-ups in the game. The game would likely be very different had the mutliplayer actually been an afterthought as some people believe.
In reality, you can’t design a game for single player and just expect the multiplayer to work, because the dynamics of the two are so different. For example, if you just balanced your weapons against the AI, you might find that your weapons are far too weak and it’s hard to hit anything because the players move a lot more than the AI opponents. Or as with CE and power-ups, you might end up totally missing avenues of design that would’ve made the multiplayer (and also the single player) experience more interesting. If you’re going to design a game with a multiplayer component, it’s absolutely crucial to think about it from the get-go if you want it to be any good.
Not that 343i doesn’t know all this already. I’m sure they have competent campaign and multiplayer teams who will work together to ensure that the gameplay is optimized for their visioon of both the campaign and the multiplayer.

Not really. MP dies eventually, or it just come down to a few favorite modes. But the campaign can be replayed indefinitely.

Not that simple unfortunately, both need lots of time and attention if both are to be good. I personally would rather them make sure the multiplayer is great if I had to choose between the two. Campaign is great and I was very disappointed with H5’s but at the end of the day I’m spending the vast majority of game time in multiplayer.
I agree; Campaign deserves much more attention. Whenever I go back to playing the previous games, it is because I want to play the campaign again, or occasionally firefight. PvE is timeless, and multiplayer always dies off eventually.
EDIT: Sorry - I didn’t realise how much you subconsciously influenced me with your above post, OP
