Massive ship battles in Halo 6?

Now I seriously doubt this will actually happen considering the bland Halo 5 campaign that played it safe in nearly every way possible but imagine in Halo 6 there were two or three missions in which you took control of massive battle ships in space (Halcyon class or other it really doesn’t matter) and a whole new gameplay mechanic was made around this engaging in covenant ships or something.
This could even become its own multiplayer mode if they wanted.
As I said I seriously doubt 343 will do anything like this and we’ll get another samey feeling generic shooter campaign but if we keep at 343 then who knows maybe they’ll give it a shot and maybe it will actually work and add something new to Halo especially now when it is in serious need of that something.

The mission on reach where you pilot the saber it’s Flipping balls awesome. Taking out the engines then landing on that huge covenant ship was epic.

Agreed. I would totally be into that. The Reach mission was one of the more memorable of the entire franchise. To throw something like that into the next game would definitely be a good move, that would most likely get a lot of praise considering how far games have come since reach was released.

Or how about a ship to ship battle for a multiplayer mode where you’re trying to board the enemy ship or engage in dogfights in the dead of space?

I just wish 343 would take risks instead of try to please every single fan.

It would be awesome, but I doubt they’ll do it. They’d have to create a whole new character to control the ship - Master Chief or Locke wouldn’t be in control of a ship.

Don’t forget that Covenant ships are very difficult to control without the aid of an A.I. because of the vast difference in technology.

Yea but for gameplay reason they could get around, maybe have an A.I. companion controlling half the ship or something

Could just play as Laskey just for those missions then they wouldn’t have to create someone new

Bungie was trying to shift in this direction for Reach. I remember reading somewhere that they cut multiplayer Sabre battles sometime before launch.

343 needs to start looking at things like that for Halo 6; Space Battles, open world sections like ODST, free form missions like the Falcon mission in Reach, etc. interesting stuff Bungie touched on but couldn’t flesh out.

I’d rather see a spin-off game, you are based on the UNSC Aegis Fate during the Battle of Installation 00, and you fly a Sabre/Longsword in the space battle that happens while Master Chief and Co. are busy clearing an LZ for the FuD and finding the Cartographer. Of course, that would only be 1 mission, but it would be super fun, see UNSC Frigates, along with Covenant Assault Carriers and Cruisers blowing each other up, while you’re shooting at Loyalist Seraphs and Phantoms.

I can just imagine being able to fly a UNSC Frigate into a covenant fleet along with Infinity. :0

I’d rather have a stand-alone space battle oriented halo game than a couple of missions.

That’s a good idea. I’d love the chance to explore the character a bit more.

yes halo needs them
