Massive problem with H4 DLC

I’m having a serious problem with the map packs and can’t figure out how to fix it.

I got the Limited edition and recently got back from an extended trip whereupon I tried to download the map packs. For some reason, it downloads them but then does not allow me to play them.

I tried deleting them off the hard drive and redownloading (multiple times), clearing the cache, and am considering redownloading Disc 2 onto the hard drive because it’s somewhat ridiculous.

This applied to Forge Islands too, but that was when it downloaded at the same time as everything else and when I deleted and redownloaded it (I’ll explain how in a moment), it did actually work.

To be able to download everything separately, what I did was delete the Limited War Games download off my hard drive (taking the necessary precaution of backing it up onto my mem card). When I did this, for the first time I could see pictures of these new maps (though I can always see them in the map-choosing screens, so long as I’ve yet to redownload them) and they all had those little stars by them. Then, after I put the Limited back on my hard drive (so I got all my armor back) and redownloaded (note I am not copying everything back and forth on memory cards, it’s coming straight from the source every time), the pictures for all the DL maps (save Forge Islands) in the map selection screens disappeared.

Every time I try to load one, the game says the player does not have access to these maps because he hasn’t downloaded them.

It’s pretty much just one more frustration at this point, but I’d like to at least see all the maps.

Bump for help?
I don’t know where else to ask.

And another time.
This problem was definitely not the same as the one fixed by that DLC, btw, or at least it wasn’t fixed by it, and I’ve met one other with a similar problem (except only with Forge Islands) and the maps not only don’t work for them on their console, but any other console - it’s apparently tied to GT, I guess.

I’m beginning to feel like nobody knows.
If you don’t know, feel free to tell me so.
That way I don’t have to keep doing this.
It’s kinda weird.
I feel like I’m conversing with myself.

Nobody knows and the lack of paragraphs may of put people off from reading it.

It may be hard drive corruption I dont know sorry

Also it was limited edition there was no legendary edition of halo 4

I think there are like four paragraphs, but whatever.
Thanks.
This is unfortunate.

And good point on the limited edition, I forgot about that. I’ll fix it.

Sorry man the moderators may know more try personal messaging them.

By paragraphs what I meant was that there is no gaps between groups of sentences making it look like a single huge paragraph which is horrible and annoying to read

True, I’m not used to double tapping.
Any mods off-hand that you think know their stuff?

Its ok mate

There might be someone with the solution to your problem here

Cheers brotha

Wow, what a wall of text. Paragraphs, bro.

Anyways, you need to install Disc 2 before you are able to access the Infinity offerings in Halo 4. Once you have that done, check your Download History for previous downloads, as you mentioned that you have downloaded the content before.

If you see something read “Infinity Actual Kit”, be sure to download it to your Xbox Hard Drive again. If you don’t see anything read “Infinity Actual Kit”, the content should be listed as the three map packs (Crimson Map Pack, Majestic Map Pack, Castle Map Pack) and download them if you haven’t already.

Once this is done, try booting up a game on the DLC maps in a Customs lobby.

It should work now, but if you’re still having trouble, come report back to this thread.

Best of luck,
OompaMyLoompaa

Are you suggesting that I delete the Disc 2 stuff already downloaded?
Because, if not, I’ve already tried deleting the maps and redownloading them (although I think it’s too late for me to just redownload the LE item, because I don’t think it’s showing up).
In which case that doesn’t work.

And yeah, sorry about the wall. I’ll just go ahead and fix it now.

@ OP,

I have been having this same issue for the past 5 months (since the world-wide XBL outage in February) While it is in all aspects a terrifying obstacle, there are abilities to fix it.

Do you have access to any other Xbox Live profiles, because these particular issues are always exclusive to an individual profile. If you do have access to another, the maps will be available when the other profile is signed in, and if a successful use of a DLC map is stored in your cache.

If you do not have access to another XBL Gold account, you can always recover your gamertag on a different Xbox that has the DLC and then redownload your profile on your original and preferred Xbox.

If anyone else has discovered other fixes for this issue, please post them! People are suffering without their DLC!

I don’t have access to another gold account; could you clarify what you mean in that instruction?

And are you suggesting that I try playing the maps with a different profile on the same xbox, and that that would fix my problem? Because admittedly I have some offline profiles I’ve yet to try that with.

That will work. In fact, that was how I fixed the problem entirely.

Huh. I’ll try it and get back to you.
Thanks.

Edit: … tomorrow. Got too late for me to try it tonight, everyone’s trying to sleep.

Well, I tried playing with another profile signed in at the same time and got the maps to load (although it didn’t want to at first, it still said they wouldn’t until I changed the map a couple times).
Now to see if it works after a game/cache reset with only my profile in.

Not only did it not work, but with me signed in first, it didn’t even want to load them with someone else signed in.
So the only way it’s worked so far is with someone else signed in first, followed by me, for some reason.
Doesn’t help that it takes like a month for “Checking for Downloadable Content” to complete every time.

Someone have another suggestion?

Bump for the most serious of issues.

Are you sure that the content is licensed for this console? Content is licensed per console, not per account.

I don’t have the LE, but I bought the Map Pass. If you had redeemable code, I would try entering in the code again.

This sounds more like an Xbox Live DRM issue than a Halo issue. I would contact Microsoft:
