Who would like to see a mass effect style game staring a spartan 4 with his/her own AI companion. I dont want masterchief to be there star hes better as a first person shooter character
Mass Effect style as in RPG? If yes then yeah I’ve wanted that for a long time.
3rd person RPG set in Halo universe, I’m game. However, I’d prefer it be a non-Spartan so there’s more options for upgrading the character’s abilities and equipment. Ex: starting in basic Marine Flak armor, upgrading to ODST armor, picking up a Jackal Shield, then getting a personal shield when promoted to officer, then getting Forerunner upgrades to the shield… etc. In contrast a Spartan has his/her armor, and that’s the defense they have.
The concept I suggested was a malfunctioning shield world is pulling in ships and smashing them onto the exterior surface because the doors to the interior are stuck. The world is also jamming off-world communications, so we have complete freedom for our decisions to impact this world, without anything else in the lore having to be written to canonize any of the decisions we have the option to take (as long as there are no Spartans or other notable characters on this world that would have to be accounted for later).
No. I want a Halo game, not a Mass Effect Game. Not a Gears game. Not an Elder Scrolls game. Not a AAA game that has MT’s like a FTP game. I WANT HALO! That is why I buy Halo games and that is why Halo 4 and Halo 5 were so dissapointing.
Could be an interesting experience.
And I’m always down for more Halo games that play outside of the chief’s story line.

Maybe not from 343 directly but as an independent 3rd party game, like Installation 01 that would be cool.

Yes totally agree with you on that they should give that job to another creator studio so it’s not to much pressure for 343
I’d love to play as a marine on some colony world. There could be some great choices made, like choosing between the UNSC or the Insurrection. It could make for some great player choices. I’d definetely have a separate company create the game if I were 343i. Just imagine an Obsidian Halo game. That would be amazing.
Yeah that would be fantastic!

100% agree. I don’t want 343i to try and experiment by trying to appeal to other audiences anymore. If it’s another developer doing something new, eg., Ensemble working on Halo Wars or Vanguard doing SA and SS, then that’s cool. But, I don’t want anymore interference with the mainline games anymore. All the experimentation ends up satisfying no one.

Thats why I suggested it not be a mainline game but some kind of side game
That idea would actually be dope. Bonus having it set in the vibrant Halo universe. Would be a tricky one to master though, as Halo is best when it sticks to it’s roots.

Gotcha. I must have misunderstood your post.
Halo was first, how about a halo styled mass effect game? The only thing I’d be alright with would be making Halo multiplayer like battlefield 4. Then it would be the best ever.
I was just thinking about this. To be honest, I think an ME-style Halo game would work better if it took place 100 years in the future and the Covenant has been reformed as a more secular, democratic society. Your task as a rookie Elite Minor is to hunt for forerunner relics across various planets all the while weeding out those who are still loyal to the original Covenant Empire. this would be the perfect opportunity to really delve deep into the private lives of the Covenant rather than just the military. Imagine walking through a Covenant city brought to life with flashing neon lights, ambient civilians of all races walking the streets, bars and casinos, spaceports, a wealthy financial district, a humble bazaar-esque marketplace, and all of it under threat by the furtive yet very active regime of the old Covenant that refuses to die. In some places, the radical devotion to the old Covenant is obvious, like brutal killings taking place in the more slummy parts of the city. In other areas, its more subtle and conniving, like the pale hand of the old guard creeping its way onto the political pulse of this new society. Slowly stripping away the foundation of what it used to be and reshaping it into something terrifyingly familiar. History repeating itself. A brand new start for the Covenant, a new golden era is in turmoil, and its your actions that decide its fate.
It would cause a lot of problems lore-wise wouldn’t it?
I don’t see how, if it takes place in the far off future. Like the 2600s, 2700s or even the early 3000s.
I’d very much enjoy that style of Halo game. It does seem hard to justify its creation but as long as it doesn’t disrupt the making of the ‘mainline’ games I see no issue with it.
