I’d believe it to an intentional reference. From one Space Sci-fi epic to another. The two aren’t direct competitors, but both have received high acclaim for their Campaigns/Story mode. It could be a friendly nod of, Hey good job on that.

I never realized that. Javik sounds so much cooler than Locke does.

Just to confirm, Mike Colter was supposed to do the voice for Locke, as the character is based on him. They got the other guy to voice act Locke due to Colter having issues with his schedules. Conveniently enough, this was after alot of people were disappointed with Locke’s voice in that one H2A cutscene.
Ehhhh that is a bit of reach. It’s not really something unique to Mass Effect.
If thats an easter egg then so is the part in The mona lisa when the sergeant threatens to throw one of them out the nearest air lock for being annoying.
