Mass Effect 3: Doing REQ packs right

I have been playing through the mass effect trilogy (soon to be quadrilogy?) recently and I have noticed that Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer has a very similar system to Halo 5. Except it is better. There are multiple packs that you can buy to either guarantee skins, weapons, or whatever permanent unlock. Halo 5’s req system could benefit from this by creating perhaps, a type of req pack that guarantees 2 perm weapon certs? or 2 armor unlocks? Maybe even a loadout pack that guarantees a loadout weapon (for all those whining that they don’t have the DMR)

Edit: One bad thing about the ME3 packs was that they cost wayyy too much, it took like 7-8 half hour games just to get enough for an arsenal pack

What do you guys think?

It would be cool, but i think that sometimes not knowing what you are going to get is part of the fun

yeah the unkown is fun but id rather get weapon reqs then like 8 weapon skins in a row, this would help thin out the useless fillings like loadout trash

But if they did that then people would be more likely to get what they want and if they’re more likely to get what they want, they’re less likely to spend money.

I think changes like this would be good for Halo 6, but Halo 5’s system is already as good as it needs to be.

I agree, Mass Effect 3’s system is defintiely loads better than what we have in Halo 5. The system was far less frustrating, ergo more fun.

Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer is still up and running to the point you can get matched up still? Wow. I think that’s the biggest shock of all right there.

Love the ME3 multiplayer BTW, so much fun.

Yeah, played the -Yoink- out of ME3’s MP, actually saved the game for me.

ME3’s crates weren’t always like that. They started off with just the base 3 packs…
Threw so much money at that game trying to get Black Widow.

Which is irrelevent to the OPs point. He’s saying the REQ system should be how ME’s system is.

Anyone got a refresher on the specifics?

I kind of want a mass effect 3 mode in halo 5.
It wouldn’t be that hard to implement with current systems I think. I don’t mean it would be easy to do but… The stuff is there. Have the revive mechanic from campaign, have it on smaller maps
With more focused enemies, and have our REQs and stuff. And do have the objectives. Ta-da!

That’s what the new version of Firefight should be, not this “Kill 15 Knights that are randomly spread across the map” nonsense.

I have to say I wouldn’t mind seeing more pacific req packs as well.

I completely agree with this post

Only as irrelevant as wanting a system 5+ years beyond its life cycle without considering the milestones reached to get to that point. If you don’t think Bioware milked spectre packs for as long as they could, you’re dillusional.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love an alternative way to get my common reqs without having to spam bronze packs, especially now that they removed the 500rp return. But it just isn’t in the cards. REQ packs are still too profitable.

I think because the MP is linked to the SP, people still have a reason to play it
