What was your favorite Marketing Campaign for which Halo game?
What type of marketing campaign would you like to see with Halo Infinite?

It’s a toss up between Halo 3 and Halo 5. I’m going to give the edge to Halo 3’s due to being let down over the disparity between the marketing and the campaign of Halo 5. However, Hunt the Truth was a really cool idea and I enjoyed it. To this day though, Halo: Landfall is still my favorite live action depiction of Halo - Lots of action, gritty, and very well done.
I’m not sure an ARG is necessary but I would be okay with one if they did one. I’d like something akin to ‘Hunt the Truth’. Now for Halo 4 and 5 they had live action shorts that all fed into the release of their respective Halo games. I did like Halo: FoD and Nightfall was good (not great). I suspect that if Halo Infinite releases in 2020 that the upcoming TV show will some how serve that purpose and there are supposed connection between the show and infinite. So all in all, I want something like ‘Hunt the Truth’ - some sort of ARG tie in would be cool plus some good tie in with the upcoming Halo TV series.
Bonus: I did like the Halo Wars 2 live action commercials - it’s good to know that they know how to have fun with the franchise as well.
Halo 3 all the way. I loved Landfall too! I remember a friend showing me a Youtube video of it and I immediately thought a Halo movie was finally coming out lol - Thanks to Landfall, I’d like to see a focus on live-action trailers. With all the misleading marketing of H5, I’m hesitant to want another “Hunt the Truth”-style marketing campaignReally I would’t mind a blended approach, with some live-action and some gameplay stuff that shows off the new engine. ARGs can be really fun, but the vast majority of people don’t play those. Even a few hardcore fans like myself never got into the previous ARGs. That’s not to say I’d be against an ARG marketing gimmick, but I wouldn’t want it to be vital to understanding the story of H6.
Halo 3 all the way. Beyond just Halo, I think it had the best marketing campaign of any game ever to this day. Halo 5’s Hunt the Truth was an incredible story in itself, but the rest of the game’s marketing wasn’t all that exciting for me.
Since they’re going slightly old school with Infinite, I hope to see a mix of H3-type commercials and the humorous commercials we saw for HW2. But more than anything, I’m hoping 343i finally puts out a complete and largely bug-free game on launch day because Infinite seems to be getting a lot of hype compared to some prior titles and it would be a shame to let players down again.

I really agree with your points here. I think a lead up series similar to Hunt the Truth with some live action trailers Landfall style is the way to go. I’d also love to see a duality style marketing strat where one half of the clips and audio series is from chief/humanities perspective and the other half is from cortana’s perspective. Really focus on the duality that is the central theme of the upcoming plot and build up some mystery while expanding on lore. Like cortana has the knowledge from the domain - imagine the lore she could provide in an audio series like hunt the truth. A bridge for all gaps in the history of Halo entirely; an exposure of lies throughout history that led to the present day paradigm.
Hunt the truth got me jacked. Maybe that is why I was so disappointed in H5. I do like 2xp stuff and small armor pieces or something. I just hope if it is story relates that it actually follows the story or is connected.
