Mark VI?

Just thought about this… Why is Mark VI in Reach? Technically, it didn’t exist until 2552 (I think).
Reach fell before Halo 1 (obviously), so I don’t see the logic there.

Am I wrong here?

?

IDK about this, but it’s possible that the armor was developed before Halo reach and MC just never got the chance to use it before Halo 1.

First off, in Reach you don’t use the Mark VI you use the Mark V , hence you having a health bar. Also, the Battle of Reach takes place just under a month before the Battle of Installation 04.

i think he got it right after halo 1 and at the start of H3

Both ce and reach take place in the same year…

You must not have much of your Armory completed, because there is a Mark VI helmet (the one Master Chief wears).

So why did Mark VI not exist in CE?

I thought you were talking about the standard armor. Also, the Mark VI (canon-wise) was not completed until shortly before the beginning of Halo 2, a bit more than month after after Halo 1.

So to me, it doesn’t make sense chronologically to have it in the game.

Well, Reach was a military stronghold and your using experimental equipment the entire time ( variant, and armor abilities were being field tested during Reach) so it doesn’t seem all that weird that you would be given another new armor style to test out. And it really is just the style were talking about. The armor has no effect on gameplay.

I know, but I was just thinking about it and realized it didn’t really make sense.

There are a lot of things in Halo that don’t make sense to me. Like how in Halo 1 some forerunner glass is breakable, and some isn’t. This is really noticeable on AotCR and TB. The sentinels apparently fixed the glass you broke in AotCR before Two Betrayals started, but it kind of begs the question, why didn’t they use unbreakable glass everywhere.

Wait, are we talking about the multiplayer helmet? If that’s the case, the description for it states that it’s a prototype model (Mjolnir Black?) that will be used to improve the final model of Mark VI.

It’s a prototype for the Mark VI. If you recall, Reach was home to many experimental technologies (such as Armor Abilities) and were tested on Reach. It’s safe to say that testing data made it off planet to Earth so that the armor could be massed produced for combat.

Recon helmet too; It was also prototype on Reach which was later used by Dare during the Invasion of Earth ala Halo 3: ODST.

I believe the story for that was that it was a prototype and most of its test data and things never made it off Reach.

Actually if you all look at the description, It says the helmet is a prototype. Description is as follows. “This is the Prototype for the Integrated Communications Helmet, MJOLNIR Mk. VI.” and the Base Description reads, “Data gathered from these field tests will be used to improve the final production model”. So there you go…

Just discount Reach as canon altogether. Master Chief was in space at the time Reach fell. So was the Pillar of Autumn. The AR has a tiny clip compared to Halo: Ce, even though Reach is a prequel.

its a prototype like the ones in halo blood line

> its a prototype like the ones in halo blood line

The fact that it’s a prototype doesn’t really solve the problem. If it’s a prototype, then why doesn’t the Master Chief - the fastest, strongest and luckiest spartan - have it? Reach destroyed Halo canon completely. I mean, armor abilities? Come on…
