Mark VI gen-1 Halo 2A

I don’t understand the the Mark VI. (Multiplayer)

It was to my understanding that the Mark VI in infinity slayer from Halo 4 was the Spartan IV remodel based very heavily on the original worn by Chief and Team Black. In fact it would explain why Black in the comics have the Halo 3 version of the armor when blue team finds them dead in the comics. Now if it was just a reimagined version of the armor that retconed the old design then we would have seen Spartan Team Black in a redesign that we have seen in Halo 4, BUT WE DIDNT.

The fact we saw Team Black in H3 Mark VI means that the traditional version of the armor is still canon, so here is my question:

Why is the Mark VI (GEN-1) armor we get in multiplayer in Halo 5 multiplayer NOT the model from Halo 2 anniversary? It’s not a redesign, the description makes it seem like it’s the same armor we have always seen-

“The distinctive silhouette of the MARK VI [GEN1] helmet remains one of the most powerful symbols of the Human-Covenant war.”

“Technically Obsolete, the MARK VI [GEN1] Mjolnir armor maintains a legendary luster among Spartans and the general Public.”

Those are the actual factual descriptions of the Mark VI Gen 1. Now let’s say the Gen 1 means we might get another version in a later DLC, perhaps that means that we are going to get the Halo 2A version, but why isn’t that the Gen 1? Also if this is Gen 1 then how does the Infinty Halo 4 version stack, possibly a separate set of armor??

You can argue that both the Halo 4-5 versions are the same, but the definitions seem to counter that idea, so I don’t find that to be good evidence.

There is a laps in writing here, that wasn’t missing in Halo 4. This is also one of the Many reasons Halo 4 was a better game, the lore seemed to make sense with this stuff, now it’s not as clear.

I’ll leave off with this, if the Spartan IV versions of the Mark V are in fact seperate from the “classic” Halo 2/3 design then that would explain why they look like the perfect missing step between how Chief looks in 3 to 4, meaning that the eventual end game look was going to be what we see now, and Cortana’s personal upgrades on top of it to make his current armor design was the launch pad she started at.

The versions from H4 & H5 are just 343’s take on the Halo 3 version of the Mark VI. It’s their redesign of the suit that their artists came up with to give it their own flavor. Team Black was wearing their traditional Halo 3 armor because they were staying true to those characters. Chief’s Mark VI in H2A was them staying true to Halo 2 so us fans didn’t rip their heads off.

As for explaining this canonically, well, the suits worn by Spartan IV’s have been heavily updated and modified with current GEN 2 systems and I guess you can say that doing so altered the appearance. But that doesn’t explain why Team Black doesn’t have that same appearance, but then again, they were staying true to their last appearance. That’s my explanation and it’s about as solid as their’s. They haven’t been very consistent in explaining their armor changes.

Too… Much… Overthinking… Let it go.

Are you asking why the H4 multiplayer Mark VI isn’t H5? Because it is, I have it.

NO. That’s exactly the point of these forums.

No. I’m asking why the Halo 2A isn’t the Mark VI G1 Model in 5

I just wonder why we have so many Mark VI without it being chiefs gen 2 armor in Halo 4-5

It’s because that’s not 343’s version of the Mark VI G1. That’s the “we’re staying true to Halo 2 for the remake” armor set. And if you notice in H2A’s multiplayer, the Mark VI we use? Not the one from the campaign. It’s the style we have in H4 & H5.

Apparently Bungie believed that chief’s armor past halo 2 should not be in multiplayer but should be unique to him and him alone, that’s why in Halo 3 you don’t have damaged points on your left breast plate like he does in campaign.

343 is simply keeping up the teatidituon wich I believe is stupid on both their’s and Bungie’s accounts.

The Mark VI Gen-1 we see in Halo 5 is remotely similar. I guess seongnam wanted to reproduce the armor for Spartan IVs with different shoulders and some other parts? Because we do have a crotch piece on the Mark VI Gen-1. I don’t know, that’s my guess. I’m assuming the spartans we play as in multiplayer of H2A are spartan II, because of the black undersuits and a pointier shoulder armor. And that in H2A they wanted to keep it close to the original as possible while adding in their own flavor. Thats why the Spartans in H2A multiplayer have bulky shoulders rather than a thinner shoulder armor like the Master Chief.

Reach’s Mark VI had a crotch piece and there’s definitely Spartan III’s in the Spartan IV program

No I read somewhere that Chiefs armor in Halo 4 had a software upgrade to gen 2 with a physical overhaul via Cortana and nanobots, and the armor he wears in Halo 5 is a completely new Gen 2 armor set made in the same look

Cortana states that she has updated it as you are/after waking from Cryo at the beginning of 4.
