It seems like these updates have a trend of bringing back classic Halo armors while also introducing a new armor. After thinking about it, it seems like the default armor (Mark V ) would be a good addition to Halo 5, as there aren’t very many armor sets that have that sort of visual profile. What do you all think about this?
I like the original from halo 2.
What exactly is different between the mark v original and reach’s version?
There is only one Mark V

For some unknown reason, the design of the Mark V/B changes during production, and this is visible in a lot of promotional art/in-game screenshots. I’ll show you.

Reach version
- Original version
There aren’t a lot of decent screenshots of the full suit, but the essential differences are the helmet attachment and the FJ/Para knees. Furthermore, in the Beta, the FJ/Para shoulder was called Mark V (seen here), as well as the earliest known version of the armor from concept art looking completely different as well (seen here).
There are a lot of different versions 343 could choose between to put in the game, so I figured it’d be wiser to present people with the option to choose between the two so 343 could know which is more popular.
YES PLEASE!
That is one smashing helmet ngl
I would love to see that armor in Halo 5. Especially the helmet. You can’t go wrong with the helmet.
I completely agree.
Think they should do an update themed on noble team and bring all their armor back (except carters we already gotz that)
This Version
It annoyed me a bit that in the final game I couldn’t have the black sun visor without having the stupid helmet tumor. If this was available would wear nothing but it. Also bring back Olive coloring so I can have my old armor.

Thanks for the thorough response an links. The main difference I see is the attachment on the helmet, which I personally don’t really find aesthetically appealing, but to each their own. When I first saw the noble armor I did get excited that the noble helmet would be the mark V**, but was sad when it turned out to be carters commando helmet. Especially cuz it’s not even the same helmet, it doesn’t even have the top visor part which is the only thing that made it look good in my opinion. Still they gave us mark iv and mark v, so who knows what else is in store.**

I think they did a good job with the Carter set despite not being 100% identical it’s still very detailed and well made.**

I do agree with you. While I don’t like the helmet personally, overall they did a good job. I’m on the fence about the shoulders tho. On the one hand I love it because it’s the closest thing to the original Spartan armor I’ve found and been wearing the heck out of it, but on the other carter had the mark v on one shoulder and the commando shoulder on the other. But the armor appearance does look true to form.

we also have Kat’s armor too… outside of her cybernetic arm replacement

I feel like they went for a factory version of his armour, maybe that’s their idea of what his suit looked like before modifications.
my bad on the double post
I want it with the visor, but not the big piece of metal on top. I think that was the one in the Beta, so that’s what I voted for.

This one.
Rather have more arena game modes than cosmetics.
