So maybe I’m just a conspiracy theorist or just have hope but if you look at the infinity armor update posted they are calling this Mark V the Mark V Alpha. This makes sense if the helmet we start with in halo reach is called the mark v which the b could stand for beta, and that means the original mark v we know and love has yet to be released. Perhaps they plan to release the different variants in a future update. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking though.
Probably wishful thinking. All they had to do was copy and paste the Halo 4 version and people would be happy but no. It seems like 343 refuses to do anything that won’t needlessly upset people.
The halo 4 version looked great, and I’m certain this is a different variant, they can’t have called it alpha for no reason.
a 343 employee confirmed it is Lore based armor
I’m going to keep hoping it isn’t the only upcoming version of Mark V. If they touch-up the Halo 4 version and make it bit closer to the Anniversary design, that would be the best.
At least it isn’t a redesign, just an early prototype.
Let’s hope so, the Halo 4/Anniversary version was amazing.
Well being called alpha would insinuate that its the prototype
I’m happy that his armor isn’t the Mark V that we all love. Over time the armor has actually grown on me, I think it looks cool.
Mark V , bring it on 343
I love that this is finally here. Even if it is a lore based early design, it looks beautiful and is more authentic than most of Halo 5’s armors. Thank you 343.
I love the artwork of it though as visor looks bigger, the arm and leg pieces looks slimmer, and the chest piece appears to look bigger. Would have loved this version.
It actually looks more like the CE armor than any of the other games’ versions

Why didn’t they release that first then the alpha since we obviously prefer the Mark V(b) or better yet the Mark V itself. I don’t know if its just me but it feels like this was a waste of time for armor design if nobody wanted this or asked for it.
I was upset about this armor at first, but the early glimpse of it didn’t do it justice. After getting a better view of it, I like it. Plus, Halo Canon POINTED THIS OUT.
Seems I was annoyed because it looked different than the Halo 4 version, which I considered pretty true to the original. However, turns out they were going ever more true to the original than they did with Halo 4, and I was just over looking that.
My apologies, 343. It’s a lovely armor set and when I get it, I will wear nothing else.
I just want the Mark V B.
I’m surprised they didn’t build off of the Halo 4 version, but studying the new one more does explain things. The knees, boots, and torso resemble CE more accurately, something I originally disagreed on. The helmet, while awkward looking, seems to mimic the original (though the jaw could be MUCH better). Thing is, they are creating Mark V Alpha to be exactly like the low poly Mark V, rather than CEA’s detailed one.
Kneecaps on the original were attached to the leg armor, not separate. The black and green on the boots match. The shoulders are more flush with the rest of the plate armor. Compare the thighs and arms. The torso is curved leading to where the thruster pack is placed around the neck.
It all looks weird but they’re building a design from 2001 on top of Halo 5’s spartan models, which are more muscular and of different proportions than old.

Not sure but the one I see well helmet anyway looks awfully different when you compare the two its more like an inspiration than a remake again just the helmet the armor is more comparable but now I’m starting to see the creative limits of the armor even though its damn armor set.
