As you can plainly tell by the title, I want to know if the the Mark of Shame that was branded on the Arbiter in Halo 2 was/is trademarked by Bungie, 343i, or Microsoft. Does anyone know? I know there are 343i employees here. A little help for a new recruit?
Hmm that’s a tough question. All content in Halo game I would assume is owned under Microsoft. What are you intending to do with it?
My brother wants to put it on his fursuit in a similar place to where it is on the Arbiter. The method and reason of obtaining it is different, but he doesn’t want to use a licensed or trademarked symbol without permission.

I think cosplay is fine, as long as you’re not claiming its yours.
Otherwise you’d have to pay money to go to a comic convention dressed as any kind of Spartan or ODST.
Fairly certain fur suits fall under that as well…and if its not ACTUALLY the Mark of Shame I dont think its a problem. No one who’s not a Halo fans gonna look at it and say “hey thats the Mark of Shame” anyway. And any Halo fan who DOES is…probably not going to just go call Microsoft.

Ive talked to someone who was on quite a few Conventions and he meant that he never saw someone enforcing the copyright.
If you encounter someone from a company that own a emblem that you wear,you either get props or it get ignored.Punishing someone for an emblem on a suit would made the company look like a bunch of idiots that dont like that the community do things on their own.

That sounds like someone with an issue against people intentionally, not a company.
MWFF is a furry convention after all. Take a quick look around the internet and you will find plenty of people who would be more than willing to attempt to hurt those connected to it.
But yeah, I can back up Edge’s statement from my expereinces at the ECCC. Years back 343 had a booth there, and quite a few people came by with Halo emblems and stuff on their armor or on their costumes. No complains, just pictures and congrats. You’re in the clear.
