Mark IV in Legends: The package?

I’m wondering if I’m stupid, or if the armor in Halo Legends: The Package that Chief and the guys wear… is that Mjolnir Mark IV, or am I being stupid? Because it looks nothing like it

Artistic lisence.

It’s MJONLIR Mark IV, which was used from 2525 to 2552. It’s Mark IV in that episode like Grunts have green blood (in that episode). Don’t take the portrayal of anything in Legends seriously. Halo Wars is going to have the best depiction of it.

The Mk. IV depiction in Halo Wars is the canon one, as is the one in The Cold Protocol (the one in TCP is a variant, hence the somewhat different look, whereas the one in Halo Wars is likely the default version).

Several artistic liberties were taken in Legends, so while the stories are canon (aside from Odd One Out), don’t take the visuals as canon unless they’re backed up by proper canon elsewhere.

I also take the new covers for The Fall of Reach and First Strike as canon depictions for MJOLNIR Mark IV. Honestly, I prefer these depictions of the Mark IV’s helmet because the sun visor isn’t black, which makes the helmet more easily distinguishable from Mark V.

No it can be confusing, just remember Mark V came out shortly before the Fall of Reach. Armor before that during Human-Covenant War was Mk. IV

It’s just the individual artists vision.

Much like how supposedly, the H4 trailer is possibly MK VII however, if the trailer is relevant, it’s unlikely that his suit “magically” upgraded to a whole new Mark version instead of it’s just taking the notion that that’s the armor we’ll end up in.

Or, this is just 343’s vision of The Chief for all we know.

Either way, I never get to into the aesthetic of a FPS character due to most of the time, they’re practically faceless characters. Chief is no different. You rarely see enough of “him” rather than “from his perspective” for me.

I’m all about third person games where you get to appreciate the character you are rather than just looking through their eyes. To each their own though.

First Strike should have Mark V on the cover. I think all the Spartans had the newer armor by the time Reach fell.
