Marines are unkillable apparently

On LEGENDARY difficulty a witnessed an Elite Warlord slice a Marine seven times with his sword and the Marine came out unscaved.

Only time I saw a marine die was when the idiot didn’t move when I called in a scorpion tank and it landed on him. Legendary as well.

Got to appreciate the Banished for winning a war against immortal soldiers. Fun fact: Master Chief is actually the most frail human warrior in the UNSC.

I watch a Marine die everytime I call in a Wasp and the Pelican drops it on top of them

Yeah Marines are pretty tanky, but definitely not invulnerable. I watched one get deleted by hardlight. Several have died to me calling in vehicles. I think they might be invulnerable in their personal Valor fights, though.

it’s a darn shame. not even chief can kill them. like they’re too strong…

also, i know i’m not the only one here who’s done thing, but ain’t it fun to go on a killing spree… against the marines? being on no-ones side, going against the UNSC, being scolded and wanted dead by everyone… it was fun. yet in infinite, i was actually dissapointed that i, a spartan, couldn’t kill them. i was honestly expecting a CE senario, where ‘the weapon’ would be confused and scold chief… me, for killing those whom we were saving.
but i guess i can’t have fun slaughtering the marines i saved.
also the marines are so strong and borked, in the fireteam side quests, 1 will always be alive. or the whole squad will be, despite; being splattered, showered with rockets, grendaded, etc… it’s like they’re invinsible or have an obsean amount of health.
but even then… they’re kinda useless anyways. only reason to use them is if they’re the turret of something. since their pathfinding is also borked on clear paths, and also they can’t ride on the side of things… like the scorpion. no 4 manned rocket having scorpion, ready to rip and tear, nope. just you and a turret man. boring

You can still kill them by running them over.

I guess its consistent with multiplayer.

Huh, I guess I was wrong.

What I hate about them is that they suck the fun out of the game. I had a mini boss fight with a brute chieftain with a grav hammer, I thought it was going to be a fun little fight, but then out of nowhere come ten marines all heavily armed and they obliterated him.

If only there was friendly fire…

you’re having better luck with the marines than i. most of mine just stay at the FOBs because their pathfinding is nearly non existant

but yeah… friendly fire on the marines would be nice to have…

Really? Marines seem to follow me everywhere I go. It’s pretty annoying actually, they just slow me down.

I like to have allies, but all they seem to do is hinder me. I have to keep constant track of them to make sure they’re not doing something stupid, especially in older Halo games.

What can I say, I’m a lone wolf.

yeah, really. the only time they get to move away from the FOBs is if i take them in a vehicle. but even then, when i have like two or three marines, clearly following me down a straight path. they would just… stop. not move, or re-join me, even with a vehicle. they just stand there or walk around a small area, just doing nothing

honestly i’m the complete opposite, i enjoy loading my marines up with power weapons, maybe have them on the side of a tank or hog, driving around like a power fantacy. yet in infinite… i can’t really do that. the passenger of the hog is gunna die no matter what, and the marines can’t even sit on the side of the scorpion anymore, for whatever reason. with their limitations and half baked AI, they’re kinda useless in this game when compared to the older halo games

They don’t seem quite as smart do they.

Before they couldn’t really do a whole lot except if they had a power weapon or were in a vehicle. Now it seems like they can hold their own even with standard weapons, and I don’t really care for that.

Also, they seem to not have as much character as they once did in older games. They’re not nearly a witty, and don’t crack as many jokes, which is a real downer.
