Frank O’Conner said in an interview that when the Infinity crashes it is roughly 1/3 into the game does this mean there will be no marines for the first part of the game?
Probably, the Chief is fine going in lone wolf though, so he should be ok in the begining. I doubt they are going to throw in hard enemies like hunters or knights until Chief meets some UNSC.
Edit: Natives???

No, just no…
We won’t be fighting any Promethean’s before that point, we would likely be looking around and exploring. The only enemy’s would likely be The Covenant.

Sorry, haven’t finished the books yet. Wasn’t sure myself if that was farfetched or not.

On a planet filled with thousands, if not millions, of hostile robot/AI defense mechanisms?!

Its most likely Covenant. They board the FuD, then it crashes into Requiem. The Covenant are pulled in to, so the next mission or so will likely be evading patrols, trying to find out where you are and if theres a way off.

Ok, you do have a point there. lol.
Sounds like chief is alone for the first third of the game but shouldn’t we feel alone…? I mean chief has been in cryosleep for the past 4 years 7 months and 10 days, when we wake up we should feel alone.
it dosen’t make asense … we know that the friendly AI is stupid and will be no more than a distraction

I was reffering to the natives siding with chief, not the other way around. Chief may find some form of friendly help to fight off the Covenant in the begining levels.
The Forward Unto Dawn was a full ship waiting to extract the chief and arbitor from the halo ring at the end of halo 3. The chief went straight into Cryo at the end there could be marines on the ship with the chief.
No, because Master Chief might have memories of Marines from the past. In other words, in parts of the game, you’ll play through memories of Master Chief’s past. But then again, maybe I’m wrong.
Marine help is useless. Do their attacks even do any damage?

Haha yeah I’m just joking around.

I don’t think its the fact they found it that is causing.g them to attack.
I think they believe the ship has a possibility of taking off again, and they do not want to the location of the planet to be known to the rest of the.galaxy.
I just hope that the friendly AI is moderately intelligent.
Pretty sure you’ll have to fight natives, and all you get to use is a spear for the first 1/3 of the game.

Na’vi sidekick buddies anyone?
I think it’ll be good for the Chief and Cortana to be away from the UNSC for a third of the game. It will be different to not have the UNSC around and, rather, adventurous and exciting.
